When we check-in we (everyone in our group) were welcomed with a drink and with a mala made of sea-shells. Kids were surprised and keeping them as souvenir. Nice idea by management:-) to attract kids. Breakfast included in our package. Worth it for the buffet that had many varieties (idli, dosa, puri, french toast, bread/omlette/egg, upma, coffee/tea/juices etc) and many of the food is great in taste as well. Kitchen staff are nice and patience - served dosa/puri were hot as they readily prepared and served at your table. TIP: Eat less in the previous night, so in the morning you can enjoy by eating as much food as you can:-)
Swimming pool is crystal clear. Since we stayed in a weekday, just couple of people were in the pool and kids and adults enjoyed the experience thoroughly. No dust or chlorine smell from the pool water. There was a guard in duty at the pool so we felt a bit safe.
Most of the rooms in first floor and second floor have SEA-VIEW through window (some rooms may have trees hiding their full view). From room's window, sunset and sunrise cannot be seen. However, if you're ready to walk ~3 minutes, you can reach the sunset point. If there had been a balcony/sit-out in each room facing sea, that would have been a wonderful view.
In the evening, one can walk along the cement-pavement built alongside of the sea-shore just in front of this resort. Note that you cannot get into the sea-shore from in front of this resort.
They have few indoor games too (chess, carrom, pool table and table tennis). Well maintained! There is a separate open kids play area with slides etc. Gym also looks loaded with good equipments for those who want to workout!!
Besides a huge powercut schedule in Tamilnadu (other than Chennai - all over tamilnadu there is minumum ~10 hours of powercut, even in night, is followed), this resort has very good battery backup. So considering summer heat, we were blessed to stay in this resort without powercut during my full 24 hours stay. That's great.
Areas to improve:
1. In general staff and service (mainly "room service") are just average. They need to train their staff to improve customer experience and for respond to customer queries/needs. I asked help to get my luggages while checking-out, no one turned out for 20 minutes. I did myself as no one ever turned out. Though I tipped a bit generously the previous day when checking-in. Not so nice in this regard. (Note that staff at Swimming POOL and KITCHEN are nice and helpful).
2. They keep shampoo and moisturizers in mud-pots (eco-friendliness/go-green, great initiative! Appreciate it!!). The issue is that both pots are exactly same in size and color and I was about to apply shampoo on my body...thinking that is the moisturizer. It was confusing. Could management correct this issue keeping this confusion in mind.
Check-out experience was simple and just quick. Overall good experience and enjoyed staying here.
