“Should be in your itinerary....”
Reviewed February 2, 2013

If you are in Kanyakumari , this is a must visit place. Always heard about swami Vivekanand, but come to know more about him after visiting this place. Now I'll surely read his biography. If you are with small kids better you opt the noon time to avoid ques and do not go in rush, spend some good time there for reading and meditation.

it is the place which required at least 4 hours to spend there. the scene of sea is really amazing there. i advised everyone who go to kanyakumari to spend at least two days one day exclusive for vivekanand rock and the other day for remaning sites.

“cool place....inspiring”

the long queue that moves sluggishly towards the jetty makes you feel patriotic. And by the time you reach the rock memorial you are indeed transformed into a proud indian.
Loved sitting at the memorial wondering how the great saint might have felt before going to America.

“A Peaceful Place”
Reviewed January 28, 2013

Vivekananda Rock Memorial:
The memorial is located in the sea at a distance of 100 meters from the shore. You need to take a ferry to reach the memorial. Around 200 people can sit in the ferry at a time. There are two entrance gates in the ferry. One is for gents and another is for ladies. However, both can meet inside the ferry. The fare, to and from the memorial, is 30/person. You have to take entrance ticket after you reach to the memorial. Ticket price per person is 10/-. There is extra charge for camera but you cannot use the camera inside the main temple. You can take water bottle inside the memorial. The cleanliness and maintenance at the memorial are impressive. The place is very peaceful. In the memorial, there is one big hall where in we can remember the God with peace and thought. You will experience the real peace in the main temple. Touching stones and other items are not allowed inside the main temple. After visiting the mail temple, you can take a tour of other adjacent places. It all takes around one hour. There are two book and souvenir shops. A must visit for all visitors.
This is one of the best places I have travelled so far. I advise everyone going to Kannyakumari to visit this place.

this is first temple u see when mainland ends.....situated in the confluence of three seas- the bay of bengal, arabian sea and the indian ocean. it is said that vivekanand came here just before he left for the grand confrence at chicago. a memorial whereu see roaring sea around and inside u feel a sea of peace. mo words to define the feelings which sweep u there. as u reach there by a ship....it adds to the adventure of the visit
