We went to Kanyakumari during December '08. From Kanyakumari railway station, we took taxi to the hotel. The hotel is well known to the taxi drivers, so did not have any issue to get there.
We were in a group of around 12 people and booked the rooms previously. After talking with the front desk guys, it seemed that the hotel remains booked mostly. So it is better to have a booking done before.
All the rooms we took were double-bedded. The rooms are spacious, clean and quite airy. The whole hotel was marble-floored. It seemed that the hotel was renovated some time before we visited there. We were impressed with the cleanliness and size of the rooms.
From the rooms, if properly chosen, views of the sea or Temple can be found. Hotel terrace is accessible to the visitors. We had a nice view of Sunrise/sunset from the terrace. In case you are lazy enough to go to the seashore, to catch the glimpse of sunrise, you can go to the terrace. :)
Room fares are quite justifiable.
The issue with the hotel is that there is no restaurant in it. But there are plenty of restaurants near to the hotel in brisk walking distance. There are some Bengali restaurants near by where you can get good fish curry.
