I have had the pleasure to stay at Umed Bhawan Kota 4 times and the one ting that calls me back is the stillness of the place. Located in middle of the city, the palace is located in seclusion, away from any hussle bussle and noise through a short drive into the woods. The grandness of lobby, rooms, palace itself was mesmerising. Bathrooms are bigger than rooms of most business hotels. Cleanliness in good. Beds are comfortable. Food is brilliant but expensive. Highlight is the Swinton Bar which had extraordinary royal seating arrangement, relaxed environment and good quality liquour with just a little above average prices. Walk around the palace takes back in time. Infact, one may see deers in surroundings. Overall, an experience worth every penny.

Though my stay in the hotel was very short, in fact checked in at 10pm in the night and checked out at 10am in the morning, thus was not even able to see the entire palace and its amenities. But whatever time I was there, it was a nice experience barring 2-3 glitches which they can improve in service

The checkin desk is very smooth and the employees actually try hard to make you comfortable - kudos on the same. The rooms we were in were suites and really huge. In fact despite 2 AC's working in the bed room, it was large enough thus not getting cooled. The room design and amenities are all good. Furniture resembles the old era carvings and is soothing.

Breakfast was alacarte but yes the quality was good. Checked the restaurant and the Bar - both give a feeling of old age Rajasthan.

Now the glitch - The rooms are very big and 1 AC cannot cool the room, the staff never told us that there was a 2nd AC in the room and only after complaining it was told.

This is an ancient palace converted into a plus 5 star property.
- The rooms are gigantic as would have been the royal majesty's need.
- Good food. the masala tea is amazing the best part being you may order it any time of day the taste is amazing.
- Best highlight of my stay was when after dinner, i went for a walk around the hotel and could sight 3 -4 huge sambhars and langoors. The whole tiring journey of flight and train through the day was completely relaxed and overwhelmed by these wild sightings.
- The mornings were very peaceful with a nice courtyard where you could walk and enjoy the fresh breath of air.

Room Tip: all rooms were very nice.

This is an old palace converted to a hotel.
The staff really gives you a kingly feel and care for you.
The rooms a good and spacious and have the antique furniture along with all the modern aminities.
The food in the resturants is good and has a ethenic flavour.

Room Tip: Choose the lawn facing rooms

The best heritage hotel in Kota (there are other two also but not very well managed). The food is good and there is a full bar for those who want to have a quiet drink. Massive room size with very quite environment. But those who want peace must check with the Hotel that there are no marriages a the time of your stay as it will ruin your peace. The Hotel gives its lawn and rooms for marriages so it can be disturbing for other guests.

Room Tip: All rooms are equally good.

One of best & decent hotel at Kota to stay. we stayed there one night. The room is very spacious with a comfortable big bed.Nice royal heritage bar, food is tasty and served well by royal well dressed staff. All basic facilities are available. This is a palace of former local maharaja, and still inhabited by descendants.. Good place for relax with filling of silence.

Room Tip: corner rooms on ground floor are better if you aged.
