This was the first Club Mahindra property I stayed at. Getting there was quite a task, as the resort is located 10 km off the main road - that's a long bumpy ride which could get worse during monsoon. If you think you could deal with it, you are in for a beautiful holiday.
The service at the reception was good..but we (family with kids) were more interested in the wooden loft overlooking the vast lake..simply stunning. We then moved into the dining area and had the lunch buffet, in short, it offered good variety and the food was above average. The evening high tea snacks were disappointing.
We waited for quite some time for our 'trailer' to arrive to take us to our rooms because that's how far the rooms are. If you were to walk, it would take a good 10-12 mins. We took rooms in the "White Throated Kingfisher" wing. Each room had a kitchenette (equipped with basic cutlery and a microwave, no induction or gas) a big hall with a sofa-cum-bed (good for 2 kids or one adult), a master bedroom and a nice clean bathroom. Overall, the rooms were clean, comfortable and looked semi-luxurious. We slept very well.
Because the resort is difficult to access or get out of, we decided not to visit the Lonavala marketplace in the evening. Luckily there is a lot you could do within the resort - carrom, air hockey, volleyball, jacuzzi and swimming. I was most excited to go cycling across the vast resort, unfortunately, most of their cycles were "under maintenance". While the pool adjoining the jacuzzi was sparking clean, the infinity pool was slightly darkish and dirty.. but we took it for a river and swam in it anyway!
All in all, its a good experience, especially for families with kids.
Tip - Carry instant soups and maggi for snacking, and bottled water (though they said the tap water is potable).
