We were first in the Machan a few months ago to celebrate a birthday. I could not think of a better place to spend a special day.

Its a beautiful, unqiue property that provides amazing views. It is clear that there is a lot of thought has been put into building this place. Each piece of furniture and the artifact have been carefully chosen and everything fits perfectly and tastefully.

The tours provided by the staff are very informative and fun. The food is also home cooked and tastes great. The staff were extremely attentive and took great care of us. The highlight of the trip was the evening we spent high up on the 'crow's nest' where the staff lit a wonderful bonfire.

You are sure to have an amazing time and will remember your time there for months to come.

Perfect for a weekend getaway... We were a group of 6 and went to The Machan in January this year and had a fantastic experience,,, this is one of the most tastefully made places I have visited; you can literally see the effort and time taken in each piece of furniture – talk about the tables, chairs and even the table fan in the lower room. You can’t get closer to nature than this – the place is literally ‘hanging’ in the valley; even the ‘crow’s nest’ (as they call it!) is amazing – it’s like a platform about 80ft in the air, open to sky - they set up a bar out there, with barbeque on demand; you can plug in your ipod or cd and listen to your favourite music – we spent the entire evening there, playing games and talking over drinks. If you are lucky and get a cloudless night, they you will be able to see hundreds of stars in the sky (they have a telescope there as well). Pollution free, nature at its best – even the power is Green, generated from Wind and Solar. As far as the food is concerned; all of us were vegetarians – they made a variety of things (Chinese and Indian) for lunch, high tea and dinner – the food was wholesome and delicious. Most importantly, the guys take brilliant care of you; Strongly recommend for people of any age group – with family or friends or as a couple.

This is our third time here. The first time we came with family- for the remaining three, we brought over friends just to see this awesome place

If you looking for a place to unwind, spend quiet time with your loved ones amidst the natural surroundings of a forest with stunning mountain and valley views- look no further!

Actually, we were here once for a birthday celebration. It was raining softly creating the perfect ambience. Tthey had organized some village drummers which everyone danced to. This was followed by a great barbeque and drinks- a surreal experience! It’s a great place to organize small to medium size events. Think family re-unions, wedding celebrations and even corporate events. The Machan can accomodate 6-8 people comfortably.

Staff is good and anxious to please. Rooms are clean and large with gigantic windows to enable viewing of the breathtaking landscape.

A definite must-go!

We took a chance on this place based on a friend's recommendation ... even though he hadn't been here. It was family only getaway between the hustle and bustle of Pune and Mumbai. Once we got there we did not want to leave.

It was an exceptional little gem, nestled in the wooded hillside and with architectural details that far exceeded our expectations. Panoramic drop-dead views of the valley, surrounding hillside and the roof-top forest canopy just took your breath away. The bathrooms were huge and decorated with little touches and details that were totally unexpected. Extremely comfortable beds and pillows.

The staff and food complemented the place in every way. Available when needed, unobtrusive when not. The food was outstanding ... as was the service. The place is completely eco-based for energy. Even the deep well water that we all drank from was sweet and clean. Much better than the bottled water! We even had a delightful bonfire with cocktails and snacks on the last evening.

Keep in mind that this is not your cookie-cutter resort. If you need" extras" for your lunch, drinks, snacks, etc. let the staff know in advance of your arrival and it will be there. There are delightful hikes (with guides if you like) that can be easy to quite challenging.

Most of all, preserve the sanctity of this place. It maybe lost in time with the helter-skelter land development that is going on in India. For now, love it and leave it as you would your own home and it will reward you back many times over.

One of the most fascinating trip that i have ever had in terms of Leisure, comfort and Adventure - It redefined the term "NightLife" which is quiet unusual in terms of enjoying the beauty of the nature that comes with this place. The day starts with the breakfast and a glass of herbal tea, which is so apt for this place, followed by a walk in the estate of around 25 acre. The place looks safe and well protected ,and is covered by beautiful mountains all round. The weather is amazing, as it is usually much cooler than Lonavala due to the presence of a thick forest. It reminds me of the old country side house of a European town with the most lavish facilities that one can avail at such a small distance from home.. Food is not what i came here for so i wont be talking much abt it (although it is very delicious with a lot of variety) , as the beautiful landscape and the sound of the nature serves as perfect appetizers... This place is for those who wants to sit and do nothing except enjoy the beautiful nature unfold its magic under a clear sky... evenings are much more fun, as one settles down..You feel the time has stopped as the place is far away from the usual hush -hush of the city..and makes u feel relaxed and rejuvenated ...
The house is the USP of this place, built on a height of around 40 ft., one literally walks in to a Tree, but a very sophisticated one...i.e made of glass and wood and decorated with the best of fittings. There are no TV or Jazzy music system available, nor it is recommended as it again redefines the way one feel relaxed without the need of daily essentials.
The surroundings of the jungle and the mixture of the five star style of Glass house makes this place a very unique proposition . It can cater to 6 ppl and There are Tents available for 2 ppl, which are equally exciting and unique. Again the tents are built on a 30 ft. height , for one to enjoy the surroundings and have a superb view of the mountains and the valley around it. One can spot a number of birds and small animals like a flying squirrel , vulture, falcon, kingfisher and many others. One feels pampered when you experience the nature at your fingertips with all the available comfort at your disposal.... This is a very important TO-DO one any one's list...Have Fun!!
