Reviewed September 1, 2012

The rooms are downright filthy, and looked like they were last occupied in 1970. We had to change one room on account of the smell.
The plumbing DOES NOT EXIST. The bathroom had a one inch deep pool of water, and the tap water and sewage outlet were probably mixed up (see bucket of water photo). All in all, a severe lack of maintenance.
They probably expect this reaction from every visitor, which is why they charge 50% payment on booking. Unfortunately for us, we had one no show and effectively paid 3000 rupees per room.
I've stayed in a worse room before, but that cost me 150 rupees a night!

I managed this through a last minute booking for 18th Aug 2012 with the family.
Good things:
The booking agent Kanchan was quick to upsell a Maharaja Suite with breakfast thrown in. The hotel is close to the market (5 mins walk). It is noiseless and away from the "hustle bustle". Service was speedy for the simple food - dal, roti, rice, etc. we ordered and to our surprise turned out very tasty. The snacks and the "poha" at breakfast was good. All reasonably priced. The TV and cable works.

Not so good things:
The ambience and the interiors - not up to the mark. The rooms have a musty smell. Wall paint is peeling off. The hotel is not looked after. Some renovation work is on. For a Maharaja suite, flush does not work, the bath tub is stained, the floor tiles are broken, Rubble was lying around. The pool was alright but families were entering it with their clothes on.

In sum, if you dont have an accomodation and are desperate to spend a day in Lonavala, choose La Exotica only as your last "Resort"!

Room Tip: If you are reading this you haven't got a booking. The view from the Maharaja Suite - # 203 is...

Me and one of my very good friends stayed in this hotel last weekend with our wives to enjoy Lonavala Monsoons. We had booked 2 rooms on phone. This hotel is not as it is shown in pics. The building is quite old.The architecture is of Colonial style. The bathroom fittings are very fragile. My wife got a tap handle out in her hand when she was trying to turn it on. The walls havnt been painted maybe after the Britishers left India :-)
Some lights/fans may not work in the rooms. The AC in our room was working but it wasnt working in my friend's room.
But the good part of the hotel is that inspite of such an old building and fragile fittings , they have been able to keep it clean and tidy. the Bathrooom/Toilet is very clean and dry. The bedsheets and blankets are also very clean.
The best part of the Hotel is its Polite and cooperative staff. Its very rare in India to have a hotel where everyone from the Receptionist to the Room Service Boys are so polite and helping.I reely loved their attitude and sense of service. Room service was very prompt. The complementary breakfast was also very good.
With some renovation/paintings , this hotel will certainly be a very good place to stay in Lonavala. But offcourse the prices will increase after renovation :-)

Note : Own vbehicle is a must as the Hotel is at some distance from the main road

Hi, I was stayed in the hotel on 16/06/2012 to 18/06/2012 hospitality is ok but I wonder how it can be a 3 star property ? Staff members are very friendly and

My reasons to rate as average hotel as below,

1) Painting and room decoration is not looks like a 3 star property.

2) Food taste (I don't want to comment) and quantity is very low you can't believe for a cost of 100/- I got only 4 pc of "Chicken pokoda" and "Chicken Handi" only 3 small pcs out of which 1 is bone across my life time I can't ignore it !

3) Don't take breakfast in this hotel if you are staying also, for 200/- Buffet 3 items only
( Bread - Omelet - Upma - ) Coffee / Tea is taste like Water with added Suger!

One thing I am very upset that for card payment they are charging 4% extra as now a days every banks are promoting to use Debit Card then Why 4% extra ?

I stayed in this hotel 3 weeks ago along with my family for one night by booking my room thru' Cleartrip. Our stay was unfortunately very unpleasant. Although details of this hotel show this as 3 star property, it is not even worth a single star. On enquiring about this from hotel manager and staff, they had no explanation for same. The overall condition of this hotel is pathatic and looks like an abandoned place. Although new wing is better but old wing, where we were put was perhaps not propery attended for years with condition of everything including room, furniture, fittings, bathrooms etc. horrible. Pl. see the photograps. We requested to shift us to the new wing but no body relented saying rooms were not available. After this experience, i have decided, not to book any unknown hotel on line just by going thru' details on internet site. I found many better hotels in lonawala that day at lesser rates.

The hotel has 2 wings, of which the new one (executive rooms as they call it) is having better amenities, interiors and toilet (new hindware fittings). Old wing rooms are what they are i.e. old (these include the super deluxe, deluxe options). Apart from this there is an open space-garden with see-saw, swing etc for kids and swimming pool (though had water, appeared as if not in use). Food was ok. The room had a Flatscreen (VIerra -32'') with TataSky connection. The room had a window AC which was working fine. Those planning to go in the rains need to check as the room had a sign of dried up leak from rain on one side of wall. All in all it was value for money.

Room Tip: Rooms in the new wing - Executive rooms as they call it.

A dear friend, the LA exotica is the vast hotel I have seen in my life. It is not the hotel for the family. The hotel staff uses bed words while dealing with guest.
As promises as a part of package, the food was not prepared or not arranged. the panty or dining agreement smell very bed.
If you try to arrange the thing as promised by their Mumbai marketing office, then hotel staff says it is not the hotel promise. If anything customer wants then the customer has to contact Mumbai office. The other thing is Mumbai guy intentionally don’t lift the call from customers.
So friendly avoid avoid........... & avoid staying in la exotica if you are looking for the 2 or 3 or 4 star properties in Lonavala. The hotel sales team project La exotica hotel properties as 3 or 4 star, but hotel is not even the good for single star.
Don’t waste your money & time in Lonavala by staying in la exotica.
