“History revisited”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 8, 2014

After climbing the steep steps not much to see just some broken caves and a small temple. The climb has lots food stalls to munch and pass your time draining your wallet and energy.

“A place to visit near pune”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 26, 2014

Nice place with ancient sculpture of vedas. A national protected monument. Along side is a famous temple. One need to climb about 500+ stairs to be there.

“The most impressive Buddhist temples in Maharshtra”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 22, 2014

If you have to Discover Some of the most impressive Buddhist temples for their rish Culture and history then Karla caves is one of the best places in the western ghats of maharashtra its
40 kms away from Pune located on the Pune-Mumbai highway one can visit Karla and Bhaja
Caves. Karla caves are 4 kms North towards from Malavli station. Karla and Bhaja caves are kind of sister caves, as in most tourists visit both of them in a single day as they are less than 10 kms apart Karla Caves - rock-cut caves in Maharashtra, India. Karla is one of the most famous centres of early rock-cut architecture and has received much attention of scholars and commoners alike. I had visited this place with my wife and we really enjoyed the peaceful environment. The caves are really very old and beautiful. You have to climb for around 500 odd stairs to reach Karla caves but once you reach on top and see the caves you will feel very relaxed. I would suggest this the best place for meditation. You will have to park your vehilcle and then start walking up to the staris. The scluptures are very beautiful. Please carry the water and food as you won't find anything there but make sure you will carry back all the garbage just to make the caves non -polluted and maintain the purity of the temple.

Keep travelling and exploring.
