“Good Resort for Short Break”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2012

I stayed at Treasure Island Resort for 2 night and 3 days with family, of course it is good for short family break near Mumbai/Pune. Resort provides only Veg food, so it is good for Indians and of course who believes in go green. It also provide Jain food and quality of food is excellent with difference varieties all times like, Gujarati, punjabi, Rajasthani, Fast Food, South Indian ofcourse.

I really recommend this resort for short family vacation near Mumbai.

Room Tip: Always choose Lagoon Villa.

its a huge property and Food was decent and good variety was provided.
its pure veg and at a decent price point.
need more inhouse activity for spending more time in the hotel.
staff is good but room service can be better

Room Tip: pool view is the best option on the ground floor

The Retreat is a quite a nice and very conveniently located property, just 2 hours drive from the central district of Bombay. The Resort is quite big with a swimming pool in the centre and rooms all around. The artificial waterfall above the swimming pool is very attractive and well designed and is a pleasure to bathe in. however the swimming pool does not have all the facilities normally expected of a resort in the form of proper fresh water shower areas etc.
The rooms are quite spacious and have all the basic amenities required for a short holiday. However the property seems to have been developed quite some time back and lacks the maintenance it is supposed to be subjected to. Even in the common areas one sees the lack on maintenace in the form of worn out furniture and fittings.
The Steam and Sauna sections are quite efficient though the areas are quite small compared to the size of the resort.
The food is good and the variety available is also adequate.
The service is not so efficient and one has to remember to give necessary instructions for cleaning the room.

Room Tip: Choose a room facing the swimming pool to have a good view.

We stayed in lagoon villa on 13- 15 July 2012. The rooms were good and so was the view of the lagoon and sauna bath facilities. The food was costly but was of good taste and quantity. (We had booked for EP plan - excluding food cost)
However the maintenance of the rooms were not upto the mark. The bed covers and pillow covers appeared stained at some places. And there were flies all around if the door for view of lagoon was opened from the room.
The room service was also not upto the mark. After calling for room cleaning service at 9 am the room service people came at 11.30 am after repeated follow ups.
Overall the lagoon villa is ok for one night stay, considering the above, however it seems to be overpriced.

We stayed at treasure island resort on 14th and 15th of july. The overall hotel is nice especially the lagoon rooms. Food was decent and good variety was provided. On 14th night excellent music program was arranged but the manager of the hotel is very rude. Avoid dealing with Mr. Zuber Shamshi, this person has got no sense of talking and talks crap and you getting a feeling as if you are doing some kind of favour by staying at treasure island. otherwise a decent property. If planning to stay @treasure island then first try The Upper deck and Fariyas if both the hotels are ful only then go for this hotel.

Room Tip: Stay only in lagoon villa's otherwise try some other hotel.

The most pathetic service and ambience i have ever experienced...went there on 13-14-15 july 2012, we had booked 2 lagoon villas (costing 13k per villa per night) first of all the staff is non co-operative,food is pathetic , the buffet is so unhygenic there are flies all around the food ..service is so sad and bad we ate most of the time outside inspite being paid for everything...on enquiring i found that there are some management and union problems,,,absolutely not worth it ...avoid at any cost...money and holiday wasted ...rather i would have stayed at home ...and yeah its 2 star rated max ...dont go on the 4 star ratings on most of the sites its only to fool people .

Room Tip: stay in the car instead.

We were on holiday on 14-15 july 2012 but our holiday turned into a nightmare as the rooms were of a lower class not worth of the kind of money you pay and the bathrooms were as if it is a public toilet such bad and stinking the shower curtains had funus and were soiled as if it is not cleaned from ages.

pls avoid going to Treasure Island.

Room Tip: dont just go by what is shown on the website. Actually the picture is totally different.
