Terrible is the lightest word i can use of my experience with this hotel. If anyone is planning to visit this hotel remember one thing 'never complaint' as otherwise you will be reprimanded. This lesson i learnt rather the hard way when i went to this hotel with my family of 4 which included one female member and one elderly.

We were on a 4-day trip to lonavala and booked two rooms at chandralok. We preferred to eat gujarati thali for lunch as well as dinner which is available at hotel's restaurant downstairs. On first day lunch went on smoothly but at the time of dinner there were lumps in khichdi and there was a clear burning smell coming from it for which we complained to the serving guy...then the real shock came next day at the time of lunch when inspite of instructing serving guy to not serve a particular ingredient of mixed vegetable called undhiyu, the guy served everytime that ingredient because of which we left that ingredient and did't eat that.....then came the manager and then owner telling us that they will not serve the rice unless we finish the little we had in the plate and we had commited a sin of wasting food (hardly five to 10 grams by weight) and we should be ashamed of ourselves (these are exact words uttered by owner's associate who did'nt share his name inspite of us repeatedly asking for it)

When we objected to this behaviour, we were insulted and humiliated and told in simple words to 'get out'.....all these was going on in front of the aged owner of the hotel.....we were forced to leave our meal half way inspite of them fully charging us for the meal......money is not the matter but our self-respect is and nowhere in India where we have travelled so far we have experienced such an arrogant behaviour....this is a clear mockery of the values 'atithi devobhav' with which we all are brought up with....

Does any sort of reason gives any hotel the right to treat its guests like this way....we had to cut our lonavala trip short and had to rush back to mumbai which was thankfully arranged by one of our friend......

All these might be the reason of our complaints we made the day before first for loud construction work noise that was going on for erecting some pipe below our room no. 204 and then at the time of dinner of lumps present in khichdi and burning smell coming out of it......otherwise we find no reason why such a minor thing like waste of hardly 5 grams of food and that too because of the mistake of the seving guy was used as a tool to insult our entire family......we had paid full charge of 330 rs. Per thali and if this much wastage is even not tolerated then they should categorically write this as a notice in their restaurant instead of humiliating their guests like this......our entire navratri festival got spoiled because of this experience and we as a family were deeply hurt.

We will not visit hotel chandralok anytime in our life nor we will recommend this hotel to anyone.

Conveniently located near the main market, the hotel offered all the basic amenities you would expect from a budget hotel. Air conditioner didn't work the way it should have but the climate was just okay for us to ignore that. The room was clean and hygienic and breakfast was decent too.

It is a decent hotel to stay. We stayed in the premium room and it was nice. Clean, with enough space. Bathroom was well maintained and spacious. Though located right next to bus stand, it was unexpectedly calm and quite inside the room. The food options are not much but the thali is a good option. Thali has around 20 items and the taste is also good. Breakfast buffet has around 7 to 8 dishes but again the taste is good. They called us in the morning to inform that the breakfast buffet is ready downsatirs. It was a small gesture but very thoughtful.
