Having travelled in India a number of times we have grown accustomed to how friendly and helpful the people are, however even we were taken aback by the hospitality and generosity of our hosts at the Homestay, Biju and Natasha. We arrived late in the evening, and yet in no time at all Biju had organised for the local Ayurvedic centre to open early to provide massages, had booked a houseboat on the backwaters (at a good rate) and arranged for beers to be provided on the boat (highly recommended!). He escorted us everywhere we had to go, and was always exceptionally friendly and helpful. Their home is modern and clean and well located for the backwaters (just a walk away). We would highly recommend this Homestay, and as is often the case it is the people that make the place special, and these are truly special people.

How to be pleased if someone calls you "my nasty friends"?!? You'll be very very pleased to be called like that only if Biju calls you nasty!!!
We were more than welcome when we reached Bella homestay in the hottest hours of a february day after a dangerous and noisy bus trip. We were refreshed by lemon mint and Biju's smile who later invited us to a real trip inside incredible india. He let us touch and live Indian life outside the homestay (all the pictures are in our hearts) while at night time we could enjoy the peaceful and relaxed atmosphere of our accomodation. Natasha and Biju know how to behave with every kind of guest (also Jackie knows ;) !!!). They may involve you in their lives or let you live on your own if you are the solitary kind.
After a refreshing and silent sleep, every day begins with a delicious breakfast cooked by Natasha and shared with the other guests. Then you may go around experiencing backwaters, Indian eyes, smells and colours, and if you are so lucky as us, bump into Shivaratri (lord Shiva festival)and beep into an hindu temple, share your meals with local people and world globe trotters. We spent the nights talking and laughing with Biju, Natasha and the other guests and we all had the feeling we were knowing each other since years and years. We found it exceptional to feel at our own ease in such a short time and we must thank Biju and Natasha because it is their attitude that makes it possible.
The homestay is really cute, more than clean and they work daily to improve the outlook and the garden. It is five minutes walk away from the main road but during the night there is no noise at all. All rooms are well equipped with fans and some with a/c, there are also hot water and clean towels.
This was the place were we fell in love with India...and on Biju's opinion we were the nasty friends he met in the last year and we are very proud of his opinion :))))

Thank you B&N!!!

We traveled in India 5 months and really can say - Bella Home stay is the best place in India! Natasha and Biju are very friendly, carefull and funny people! All the home is clean (yes!) and beautiful, all the morning we woke up with birds songs (not rikshas horning!) and real coffee (not nescafe!), and tasty breakfast. Biju organized travailing by canoe (perfect!) and auto riksha (honest man!). free wi-fi. We also visited different places around Allapaza with Biju and Italians guys. It was funny journey. We felt like childes with good parents - no worries! Everything honest, the best organization (those who were in India will understand us!). Take relax ! We recommended Bella Home stay for everybody!

We stayed 2 nights with Natasha and Biju, who were wonderful hosts, very attentive and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable with plenty of hot water, and all necessary commodities. They arranged a last-minute canoe trip for us, which was a real delight.
They were both highly knowledgeable about India, and we shared interesting conversation from politics through to history. The home is a peaceful 10 minute walk from the centre, and yet hidden away from the hum and drum of the city. Fond memories. Highly recommended.

stayed with my family 2 nights here at end of January and we found it to be really good. Nice clean rooms. A good location, close to the waters, very calm and quiet. Easy to order in food from good restaurant and just a 10 minute walk to town. Biju and Natasha really did their best to make us feel at home. Their lovely dog Jackie made it even better.

We stayed 4 nights in this nice and quiet homestay, with Biju, his wife Natasha, and Jacky, the very funny face "mascot" here. We were really touched by their kindness, always ready to talk with us about India and all kind of staff. Natasha indeed used to be a tour guide in India and she knows lots of places. You really feel at home here, the room was really clean and the bed was really good. Nice area outside, surrounding by many types of flowers and plants, to have your coffee and fresh homemade pancakes in the morning. We will definitely recommend this place to stay as long as you like, it is just nice to be in a quiet place, by 15min by walk from the center, but still away from the crowded traffic of the streets. Just enjoy !

Myself and my girlfriend found Bella Homestay to be brilliant. The rooms were fantastic, with really clean bathrooms. The house is located near the boat jetty so is perfect if you plan to go on a houseboat in your time at Alappuzha. The couple who run the homestay are professional, friendly and really helped us during our stay. The coffee here is superb!!!! And jackie the dog really made us feel welcome! We would recommend Bella to anyone staying in Alappuzha!
