This is a beautiful resort! Very clean and serene and well-maintained. The food served was average, not a very large selection and Indian food only. Also note that they do not have a liquor licence. The resort is waterfront but has no beach for swimming. They have a nice spa that offer a wide range of massages, my husband and I tried massages that were quite professional and enjoyable. They have live music playing during dinner, which by the way is served under the stars by the water. Stunning experience and oh so very romantic! The rooms are very comfortable too and tastefully decorated. Overall, a nice experience!

Location - From Nh47, turn left @ Muttathiparambu 11th milestop. exactly 6 kms in ul find this resort.Best advice - Keep your google maps ON & if you dont know the local language, best to guide auto fellows while you are @ Kumarakom.
Fares : To World Backwaters (AUTO)
From : 11th Mile stop - 80/100 Inr
: NH40 - 25/30 Inr
: Cherthala - 150 Inr
: Thanneermukkom Bus Stop - 100 Inr
Bus : Every One hour to Muhamma & Thanneermukkom in front of resort - 5/10 Inr
Point to Note - Without Auto/Bus you are completely isolated when you stay in this resort
Resort Info :-
Reception - Warm reception with traditional way
Check ins - Smooth, just 10/20 min before you are whisked to your room
Rooms - We choose Executive Villa ( 2 rooms/ with master bedroom, quite spacious & comfy, very well lit and clean bathrooms)
Restaurant - very expensive & we avoided buffet, due to limited choice of foods. But Ala Carte is better. Breakfast is complimentary and you have good choices)
Spa - Very good choice of treatments. For guys recommend (Podi Kizhi), for all kind of joints and back related problems. For women, general massage and facials.
Ambience - very very peacefull, specially @ night. you can keep gazing @ the still lake (as big as sea) and you wont be bored. I would say choosing this resort is best than once at other side of lake, close to houseboat goverment jetty areas. its only 40 min by Auto (300 Inr) or by Bus (resort to thannermukkom & bus from there to govt houseboat jetty (10 Inr/per person)). so if you know the routes, save in stay and explore and spend less on travel would be the best advice).
Nearest Airport - Cochin (2.5 hrs by train from Cherthala) or Trivandrum (4.5 hrs from cherthala & 40 min auto ride to airport (130/150 Inr from Trivandrum Central Railway Station)
Recommended Days - 2/3 days
Recommended Food we got local food from outside other than breakfast, road side shops are best.
Total Amt spent - 3 pax
INR - 3 DAYS/2 NIGHTS - 20000 Inr (Executive Villa), Spa (6000 Inr), Food inside resort (2500 Inr), Transport (1000 Inr) - Total (30000 Inr/ 800 S$). Its worth it.

Room Tip: Pool view villas are few and you end up paying more. rather choose executive villas (just 3 only) bu...

It is a nice place to spend your weekend along with your family or as a couple away from all your busy schedules.
The most interesting part of the resort was being in the swimming pool in the evening looking above at the moon, and listen to the calmness of lake Vembanadu. Its a perfect destination to spend your weekend. Just stay here, play, swim, eat, and enjoy. Though we had vegetarian food, we found it awesome.

Room Tip: Choose a room facing the lake and swimming pool. You will have an amazing view.

Even though this resort is far off from the airport but the amazing experience you get staying beside the lake makes up for everything. The staff here were very courteous & nice to us. I traveled with my small kid but had zero issues with service or facilities provided to us. The restaurant manager was awesome. On our request, he prepared three separate non-veg kerla dishes which were mouth watering. The resort also arranges for Shikara ride which also frees you from all hassles of negotiating & finding a good Shikara. The reception staff were also every nice. We had a very nice boat ride inside the resort as well.
I would definitely recommend this resort the place to be visited. It's worth the price you pay!!

We stayed at this resort for just one night and came back with horrible experience.
The place is quite far from Kumarkom and you have to travel in the interiors, which seems quite secluded.
We were welcomed and greeted well but the mood was spoiled when we found that the water in the bathroom/basin is not fresh water but the salty water.
We wanted to have a shower as it was a hectic day and it was quite humid out there. But it was impossible to take a bath with that kind of water.
We immediately called the front desk and complained about it - they said we will send someone to check it.
The service personnel just came in and tried hot/cold/shower water options(dont know why!) and confirmed that the water is indeed salty.
When we called up front desk again, the answer given was the most horrible thing we would expect in the hospitality industry - "Sir, we cant do anything. There is salty water at each and every tap in the resort!" We were shocked to hear that.
On requesting to talk to the duty manager someone in-charge came to our room and himself checked the water and apologized for the same.
He explained that, the water in the lake is mixed with sea water due to leakage in the 'bund' and the resort doesnt have any other water connection.
I told him that its none of our business so as to why this is caused etc. They can bring in the water tanker or whatever, but needless to say we should get the fresh water.
He promised to send 2 buckets of fresh water. After some time, 2 buckets were sent - but again it was salty water. This time, it was little mild, but indeed it was NOT fresh water.
I had to call my travel agent(who had booked houseboat stay at next day) and asked if he can do anything but nothing could be done.
The attitude of the staff was very disappointing. There could be some real/unexpected issues but they should make alternate arrangements.
And 'all the rooms have this kind of water' can not be an excuse for having salty water!

Room:
We stayed at the lake view room on ground floor. We were disturbed by the noise made in upper floor room. We could literally hear the chairs getting dragged, foot-steps, water flowing in bath room.
The power had gone away when we returned from breakfast. When contacted front desk, they said, it should be there and no failure is reported. While we kept the key inserted, the power came back automatically after 5 mins. So overall we found it quite mismanaged.

Food:
The food served at dinner was average. Paneer was not really fresh and they had limited choice for vegetarians.
The breakfast served was also mediocre. The idli/dosa was not fresh. The toaster was not working properly.

Overall, we didnt have a good relaxing experience, rather we were very keen to leave the place as soon possible. Will not recommend it.

Room Tip: Dont get the ground floor lakeview room. Its very distiurbing.
