Was here on business and the travel agency we booked with arranged someone to pick us up from the airport. We were chauffeured in the hotel bus (only 2 of us). Quite pleased because it was comfortable and was quite a ride from the airport. Reception was very pleasant and though we were also Chinese she spoke with us in complete English. Noticed my husband took a map, she asked was it our first time staying with them? On knowing so, she greeted us with a big warm welcome with smiles. The hotel offers shuttle service to the "city center" but its scary down there (messy, dirty, rundown and everywhere is under some kinda construction) and nothing at all to "shop" so I do not know why would the shuttle bring guests there (one way only; you will have to find your own way back)- there is a Macdonalds there if thats the reason of going down there..The room was a little old and some smell I reckon is inevitable, however the Housekeeping was really sweet and very thoughtful. Buffet spread not very appetizing and we skipped the last 2 days of breakfast. Can improve on international spread. We had dinner twice at the lobby's western restaurant. They serve good tasty western food and portions are big, of course price is equivalent to the size. Service staff were attentive. Overall, location is a huge plus if you are there for the wholesale business; and as a lady I feel safe and thankful for checking into this hotel. Will definitely stay here again and I hope some refurbishments of rooms can be considered!

The proximity to the Yiwu market is perfect and the lobby restaurant was great - such a relief to get decent Western food.
The bathroom was huge and the motion activated light took some getting used to.
As other travellers noticed, the aircon temperature is not controlled by the guest.?
The room was comfortable but the carpets were stained.
Housekeeping was diligent in replacing complimentary coffee/tea and the 'gifts' eg. compact mirror/business card holder are a nice surprise.
The pumpkin cakes at breakfast were delicious.

1. The reservation system of the hotel reception is not linked to Best western web site reservation system so when you arrive at the hotel they will not likely find the reservation you made online with Best western web site. so they end up mixing up very often the reservations at check in.
2. The most annoying issue is that room temperature in " centrally controlled" so the room temperature control is merely a decorative piece , during my stay last October the room temperature was set at 25 degrees celsius by the staff , the room was to hot so I could not sleep on any of the 4 nights I stayed there,
3. During trade shows dates the elevators are extremelly slow.
3. In all one of my worst experiences ever in a hotel in China; the staff was not willing to solve the problems when exposed by the guest.

Room Tip: book with visa or mastercard since there are always good promtions on the web site with up to 20% di...

The check in is fast. However, as we arrived a little late in the evening, all the queen-size bed business rooms were out. They "upgraded" us to a larger "family suite" and they claimed that they wanted us to experience the only 2-bedroom queen-bed suite in the hotel. It's a large suite with two queen beds in two adjoining room. Nothing to shout about. In fact the hotel room is a little dated. It is generally clean, but you can see signs of wear and black moody spots in the bathroom. The TV is not LCD but at least the cable box works. As per some earlier reviews, it gets some fiddling to figure out the lights switches, very user unfriendly.

The breakfast spread seem a lot, but the food is quite bad. If u are not fussy, it's do-able, just to fill the stomach. The western restaurant at the ground floor lobby has good western food, but don't try the asian food there. If you want to get drinks, biscuits, snacks, there's two convenience stores behind the corner of the hotel. Ask the bellboy for the direction. The groceries there are much cheaper.

Hotel location is good for people doing business at the "just-next-door" Yiwu International Trade Mall (mostly wholesale purchase). However, it is far away from the city centre where all the retail shopping centers and stores are located. You need to take taxi (about ¥15 per way) to the city area. Please note that if you wish to go out at night, after 7pm, it is quite hard to get a taxi as there's no traffic coming in to the hotel vicinity after 6pm as all the wholesale shops are closed. You've got to wait for hotel guests returning to the hotel in a taxi in order to get onto one.

For those who travel by train, you can go to the hotel business center to help book the train tickets. They charge ¥35 on top of the train ticket price. I felt it's an ok price as it took about ¥35 one way to travel to the train station if you want to purchase tickets yourself.

Overall, it's an okay hotel, but I'll try other hotels in the city area the next time round.

I have been here only 2 hours so far and nothing has changed since my last visit. It is customary to start with something good, well the girls try hard, that's it.

30 degrees outside and they won't turn the Aircon on I want to the exec lounge to do some work and they would not turn on the lights because it heats up the place, so trying to work in pitch darkness was impossible. In the end I forced the girl to turn on the lights with shock horror the temperature will go up more but trying to explain easy turn on the Aircon but she wouldn't. I went to the bar on the ground floor and all the lights were off in there too so I asked if they were open it was so dark yes was the answer but as no one else was in there I didn't stay. Back to the room 27 degrees Aircon useless and with all the lights on the brightest is the laptop. No chance to work in an evening too dark to even read a paper.

I stayed here a couple of winters ago and it was minus 20 outside and they wouldn't turn the heating on at all and had windows open to clear smoke from the lounge. All the guests threatened to go on strike unless the heating was turned on. Eventually they did.

Problem is its the only hotel in Yiwu near the convention centre there are other western hotels but all get poor rating and my agent wouldn't put me in any of those so I guess I have to suck it up for a week

Room Tip: Go somewhere else, if this is the club floor god only knows what the rest of it is like
