“A tree house feel”
Reviewed November 9, 2013

This place has a tree house feel with lovely views and a unique set of building connected by timber walkways and winding passages. Our room was spacious but I don't like the low bed and open shower/toilet near the bed. Great veranda to sit and read. Restaurant buffet breakfast a huge selection. Food was good but not great.

Spent two nights here, wonderful, secluded, rainforest at the door. Wonderful place to stay and relax. Only issue was dinner in the restaurant two dishes where a little salty and the chicken in the one was a bit tough, great breakfast though. Would happily have stayed for longer. Great overall experience, friendly staff, great service. Thoroughly recommend it.

Room Tip: The bungalow rooms are wonderful and accessed by raised wooden walkways.

Kep was my favourite location on our travels around Cambodia, partly to do with staying here at the Veranda but sadly only for two nights.

Arrived on the Monday after the holidays and Barbara (the lovely lady from Hamburg) said that we'd missed the crush from the weekend so it was lovely and quiet with only a few rooms occupied. Our original hillside bungalow was having electricity problems so we were upgraded to the relatively new Stone Villa. WOW! It was beautiful, big and comfortable. A nice balcony with a fan and lights, an ocean view and comfy chairs. The bathroom is gorgeous and the shower lovely. My only issue with the room was the lack of in room safety deposit box - I think they could provide these for peoples' own sense of security really.

Breakfast was outstanding with such a wide selection from Western to Cambodian feasts and eggs cooked to order. The views from the restaurant are among some of the best in the area.

The pool was a fantastic asset however could use a little work on its floor as I nicked my feet a couple of times on loose mosaic tiles (just a minor baddie though).

Barbara had lots of information on the local area and arranged moto-scooters for us very quickly.

The Veranda is right in front of the entrance to Kep National Park so is a little walk uphill from the crab market - only tuk tuks with proper motorbikes seem to be able to make it up there and there aren't many around at night so might be best securing one earlier to wait for you if dining out, but the walk back is lovely anyway.

We did NOT want to leave.

Room Tip: We were upgraded to the Stone Villa which was wonderful and quiet with a Gulf of Thailand and sunset...

Wow! If you are looking for a quiet secluded hotel, this is the place! The rooms are all situated on stilts among the trees and are linked to one another and the pool and restaurant via wooden walkways. It is like staying in a tree hut! we really enjoyed the quiet here. Yes there were some families and kids in the pool area, but this wasnt a problem. The pool was a lovely setting, surrounded by trees, and a bar/restaurant attached for food and drink. (try the passionfuit mint smoothie!) When in our room you could not see any other room, or people, just the trees and part of the ocean. Staff were friendly and helpful, our internet broke and was fixed with a new router that same afternoon. Breakfasts were good, with a wide range and a gorgeous view. We ate lunch once at Veranda, but also chose to eat at some other places in town - Trei and Holy Crab were our favourites down at the crab market, and we enjoyed the Sailing Club for sunset drinks, food at the sailing club is good if you need something western and a break from crab and seafood. We would recommend this place as a unique and quiet place to stay and relax.

Room Tip: We stayed in B4, which was wonderful, we had a large room and a grogeous private balcony to relax on

Love this place. It's my second stay there and they are continually improving. Rates are still excellent (we paid $80USD for 2a and 1 (8yo) child). Kids club was operating (it was a major holiday period) and there were lots of things to do. Pool is in need of repair, but as they are working on another one, I'm sure it will be repaired as soon as the new one is operational. Pool still beautiful and still very usable. Pool bar is great, rooms are clean and well appointed. Great stay once again.

Kep is absolutely beautiful but be sure you bring money with you. There is absolutely no way to get cash other than doing a cash withdrawal via your credit card.

Room Tip: We stayed with friends in rooms 10 & 11....beware! these are directly below the restaurant and i...

Lovely resort with excellent service, decent food, and outstanding accommodation. It has been thoughtfully designed and built by the owners, who are always present in the resort, rsulting in very high standards in every domain.

One of the best in the region, never mind Cambodia.

Highly recommended!!

Pros - great views, location, pretty good value for money

Cons - staff a bit odd, food fairly average, lots of kids (a problem for us I guess rather than a general problem)

Probably slightly less than "very good" but certainly better than "average".

Room Tip: We stayed in the penthouse which was a very big room and pretty good value. However, the mosquito ne...
