“Good, but not excellent yet”
Reviewed January 4, 2014

The atmosphere in the resort is very romantic and peaceful - it's a perfect getaway from the noise and stress.
However when it's a resort I kind of expect the facilities there. If you come there without your own toiletries you will be very surprised to find only a soap and some standard shower gel (built in the wall and not perfectly functioning).
Some things need to be fixed: our safe didn't work, the door in the bathroom didn't close, the bedding had some stains and small holes. I think this is unacceptable considering the amount of money the customers pay.
The resort is a bit difficult to access but so are the other resorts.
The pluses are nice breakfast, modern room, small cosy veranda, swimming pool (with a bit cold water), the staff was also helpful and they can rent motorbikes.
Pity the resort didn't prepare anything for the New Year considering there were a lot of guests.
At night sometimes we were woken up by a rooster from neighborhood who somehow got a very close access to the resort.

The concept and the setting of the hotel are beautiful. The grounds nicely kept, the villas have a nice layout.
The staff was friendly and helpful and the service promt.
However, the rooms were not clean, nor were the sheets and towels. We don't mind the occasional gekko in tropical surroundings, but the amount of ants, spiders and bugs was simply too much. Ants were in front of the room and coming out of the sink also.
The water pressure in the shower was pathetic and the mattrass on solid rock so hard, that sleeping proved to be difficult.
The door to the room did not close completely, ideal for mosquitos lloking for prey.
And the "breakfast included" turned out to be a hoax. It was only one cup of coffee or tee or juice and an order of eggs or joghurt or toast. Everything beyond that was USD 3.5.
So only barely 3 stars and much room for improvement.

Dear Jochen-v-S

Thanks for your stay in our resort with your group and I appreciated to good words as setting. As I knew you the tour leader and you tried to cut down for our grade of service and facilities even the price of birthday cake, dinner setting and the breakfast also now. So I think you cannot get the $3.50 American breakfast likely we set eggs, jam, butter, coffee, tea or juice with fresh fruit full-dish in Cambodia. I did not compare the price to your country. As I think you tried us to be down as our service as you can. Because you expected everything is free for you I think you. The world you can find the cheap and expensive place but you will find the reasonable or fair when you compared to your payment also.

For mattress, linens and so on we just bought from new stock as we will change it completely by this month. and we tried to explain you on the Nature surrounding if you did not like them please you did not say you love the environment but we just do our best for now we have to clean up but we don't destroy them as part of cycle -ecology. Again, thanks for your comments. Any points we could update we tried our best to upgrade for our guest convenient with our service and facilities.

Cheers- Theara

We had a very nice stay at this small hotel in Kep. The place was beautiful, although far away from the beach, the garden was stunning, the pool area was very nice, the bungalows were comfortable and stylish, although very rustic, the staff was kind, with special remarks for the manager that was tireless and was attentive to every guest needs. Nevertheless, the place is still not amazing, as some details need to be taken care of, specially considering the price, not cheap for Cambodian standards. For instance, almost all the towels had stains, although they were clean, the pool chaises had holes and were definitely looking old, the breakfast is good, but still not in the same level as other's we had in Cambodia - for the same price, and the shower, although we had hot water, did not have enough pressure. The place is rustic and it is part of its charm, but, for the rates, I was expecting a little bit more. Anyway, we had a very good time.

Room Tip: We had room 7 and enjoyed it!

Having just been working 16 days without a break and 16 hours a day, it was time to get out of dusty Phnom Penh and head for Kep. I had stayed here about 2 years ago and didn’t enjoy the staff and the way the place was run. I did hear that it was under new management so I decided to give it a go. I went with my wife and it was truly delightful. The staff were very attentive, the place was clean and the drinks cold and the food great. I fully recommend Nature’s Garden Resort for a day or a month.

I feel like Tarzan & Jane will come by the pool side and drink with us...This is a good spot in Kep to relax and have fun with friends by the pool and enjoy the sunset. Very attentive staff and I like the furnitures. Comfortable bed and cozy room. We really enjoyed our stay here!

My husband and I had a wonderful 2 night stay at Nature's Garden. The bungalows are clean and spacious and the surrounding garden is beautiful and well maintained. There is a nice swimming pool and plenty of sun loungers to relax on.
The staff are very friendly and eager to please. Breakfast is included - the pancakes are great. We ate lunch and dinner at the restaurant on both days - everything freshly cooked to order and all the seafood was simply delicious.
The track up to the resort from the main road is pretty bumpy - the staff can take you down to the crab market in a tuktuk for $3, or it's about a 20 minute walk.
I would definitely recommend staying here if you're looking for some relaxation in Kep!

Peaceful and charming resort at a reasonable price. Not beachfront (in a beach town) but wonderfully quiet. Nice pool. Staff bent over backward to make us feel welcome and served us well. Manager is also part owner and was very friendly, sharing the story of the resort and explaining that the new team of owners is working hard to overcome negative reviews from the past. We liked the thatched roof bungalows - basic but charming, with good mattresses and a nice little private patio area. Dining space can double as an outdoor meeting space, and I plan to go back with a group in the new year for some leadership development training.

Room Tip: front bungalows are more accessible, back bungalows quietest (although all were quiet when we were t...
