“rubbish heap”

This was a big disappointment sadly!!! the beach is not great, rubbish everywhere and NO peace and quiet. We went on a weekend so possibly the weekdays are better.

“nights of horror”
Reviewed February 9, 2013

We where 3 days on island. Water is much nicer(sea)then in Kep and sand cleaner, but overall attitude is that they don't care at all. Hardest was not having light during the night time,Rats running, climbing, eating up the bungalow made so awful noise even airdrops didn't help.I don't get scared easily, but this was so bad that I have to write about it.The places name is Yeay Orm Bungalows. Can't say anything good about their food either...

“A nice island getaway from Kep”
Reviewed January 30, 2013

We had a day here & then returned the following day to stay overnight in a beach hut..There are about 30 in total costing $7 or $8 a night. Very basic & without a sink, running water is only available for 1 hour in the evening & electricity between 7pm & 10pm..
However chilling in our hammocks watching the sunset was a priceless moment & will be treasured forever..
There are nicer beaches around the world & waking up amongst chickens, ducks & dogs howling isn't for everyone but a night or 2 is a must for hardcore travellers, although we met a couple staying for a month & didn't quite get why...

“Over hyped”
Reviewed January 18, 2013

This is a pleasant day out from Kep. Nice boat trip over and certainly not expensive. However, I have to say we were rather underwhelmed, this is certainly not a tropical island paradise. The main beach is gently shelving but is backed by a selection of huts/stalls which are not particularly scenic.
I tried to walk the path around the island, only the be thwarted by the tide on the final section. Much of the path is through overgrown scrub rather than tropical vegetation. Sadly, a lot of litter washes up on the beaches and no-one gathers it up.
All in all a bit of a disappointment, given all the hype in the local literature.
