“Bad service, average food”
Reviewed February 2, 2012

From the outside the restaurant looks quite nice. That is why we went there. The food ist not really cheap and tastes more or less average. One day we went there to have breakfast and ordered two baguettes with butter and honey. The amount of honey we got was ridiculous small, it wasn't even enough for one of our four baguette halves. When we politily asked for a bit more honey we got a little more, but still not enough for our baguettes and we had to PAY 40 cents EXTRA!! In general, the restaurant is not very welcoming. We would definitily not recommend it. We had the feeling that a lot of people just go there because it is recommended in Lonely Planet. it is good to be in the lonely planet but it is sad not to live up to expectations! About the rooms we cannot say anything because the reservation for a room we made before going to Rabbit Island was already forgotten when we came back. When we came back from Rabbit Island we were supposed to be picked up by Brise de Kep's driver because we booked our boat tickets with them, but there was no driver...Arriving at Brise de Kep the receptionist told us that there were no free rooms. We said that this is very surprising since we had a reservation. The answer was: "Ah you know so many tourists here...but you can go to another hotel"...

“Not really memorable.”
Reviewed September 16, 2011

We stayed here also so ended up eating here quite a bit because of the bad weather.
The food was generally good but nothing amazing, the prices though were a little high for what you were getting. The fish main courses were specifically good but quite small portions, in Kep there seemed to be limited places to eat so I would check it out.

Oh and the view is great!

“Cheap and tasty”
Reviewed June 18, 2011

Right in the heart of town where buses and tuk tuks arrive and directly across from the main beach you will find Brise de Kep amongst a row of shops/guesthouses. The menu offers a good range of Khmer choices. My vegetable curry contained coconut milk in a thick sauce, with vegetables that were still crunchy. Recommended.

“Do not sleep there, just eat”
Reviewed March 18, 2011

We checked in to stay a couple of nights as we wanted to relax a little bit. Nothing but problems. Just after checking in at around 3PM, we noticed WC was broken, and licking water in the bathroom. They said they would repair it and we decided to have something to eat at the restaurant in the meantime. It worked out. They solved the problem and I positively have to say that food was really nice, specially if you are used to 1$ meals in the street and tired of noodles and rice.
After a while, the water from WC again started licking and we started to be upset. The fixed it again and that was it, no more water.
At 9M we went to our room to lay on the bed while watching TV and surprise! TV not working. Once again, we contacted the staff and kindly asked them to repair it or chandge the TV. After nearly 1 hour of trials, nothing was repaired, no TV changed, and they started to be rude saying if we did not like the place we could leave. At 10PM, leave?! So we ended saying we would like to talk to a manager the day after and that we would not be paying the full price of the room (15$ without breakfast). They probably understood that we did not want to pay the room so after 30 minutes, a woman knocked our door to say we HAD to leve the room, for no reason. We obviously did not leave, closed the door and had the most unsecure sleep ever.
The day after, we checked out and while argueing with the satff, at the reception another man was having exactly the same problem!!!
Whatever, do not sleep there, just eat at the restaurant which is good value for money.

“Don't let the menu fool you”
Reviewed March 8, 2011

The name sounded French so we tried it, but the food was not at all like what the menu described. We left most of the food and went somewhere else. No one apologized they just took the money and gave us that stupid grin
