“Best value for money ever experienced”
Reviewed April 6, 2013

I've stayed in very luxurious 5* hotels and I've stayed in hostels many years ago. We came from PP and were on our way to Kep with our family of 5 and we decided to have stop in Kampot to have a look around before heading to the coast. Based on Tripadvisor reviews, I directly emailed the hotel and got quick responses at all time. Was able to book the family room for about US$65 a night (room has a double bed, 2 singles and a small 140 cm sofa which made a bed for one of the twins; two girls came down to make the bed and she got a night kiss and all, so sweet!). We arrived early so had to wait until after our welcome drink and lunch (was slow and had a few mix ups, but plenty of warning and apologies).Room is absolutely lovely and well appointed with lots of great detail. Very well executed and really well done. Kids were able to watch a DVD from their selection. Two a/c units, two fans, all room amenities (except turn down service ;)) you would expect in a 5* hotel were present in this lovely place in Kampot! Food is very tasty, breakfast is nice and generous with several options as well. Boray arranged our driver for the salt fields and pepper farms and onward to Kampot as requested. The girls were absolutely lovely and waving and kissing the kids good bye after just a single night! I really cannot fault this place and the value for money you'll be getting is absolutely unheard off these days. The only thing I mentioned on the feedback form was maybe to make an effort to reduce the plastic shampoo / conditioner, etc. containers and replace them with a more environmentally-friendly option which is often done these days ... I just feel bad using 3 tiny plastic bottles of shampoo in order to get 3 bunches of hair washed. But really, that's the only thing I can think off! Well, and the safe and I didn't really understand each other ... I never struggled so much with a hotel safe even after reading the instructions ... ;)

Room Tip: Family room with one double bed and 2 single beds (and possible the 140 cm sofa as a small bed) is a...

Not a lot to add to the excellent reviews here already. Great location, beautifully designed rooms, clean, modern bathrooms, amazing food. Friendly well trained staff. Right on the riverfront, the bar/ restaurant is a good place for an early evening happy hour cocktail to watch the world go by. UK/Dutch owners have got it exactly right. I planned to stay three nights, stayed four.

Room Tip: Book early in high season, it can be hard to get a room.

My daughter lives in Cambodia as a volunteer with the Peace Corp, she made all the arrangements for our visit. I give her two thumbs up for arranging our accommodations here!

The staff was amazing from the moment we arrived to the second we left. They greet you with a smile and a can do attitude. We met the owners who definitely lead by example.

The accommodations were beautiful and clean. We were sorry to leave, in our short stay of two days, they made us feel like family.

Amazing experience and staff!

Is it bad to arrange a holiday half way around the world simply to stay in a hotel that doesn't even have 10 rooms??
Everything has already been said about this place but i'll repeat some of it....
First thing to mention is the staff. They are absolutely brilliant. Boray could organise your whole holiday for you, from pedal cycles to boats, mopeds and taxis. He is brilliant. Lynn runs the place so efficiently and treats you like you're her best friend. Tian is the best cocktail maker in town bar nobody and a great laugh with it. The rest of the girls, the 'sparrows', are constantly smiling, laughing and making your day joyful! I suppose Denise and Dom are alright too! Actually they have done a magnificent job and their hotel is an absolute pleasure to stay and eat (and drink) in.
The rooms are beautifully furnished, you could spend your whole holiday propping up the bar chatting away to the staff and not leave the premises at all.
Lastly, special mention to the chefs.... the food is magnificent, especially the saraman, possibly the tastiest food i have ever had.
We actually miss Rikitikitavi and Kampot so much. It is our favourite hotel in our favourite town.
Well done to everyone involved in the running of it, you made our holiday special.

We spent 4 nights here 14/18 March and the 3 of us loved it. Fantastic room which was beautifully decorated, but the staff is what makes it. Bory was a godsend organising many things for us to do including TUKTUK to pepper/ salt farms and Kep for lunch, sunset cruise on river out to the sea. The best was hiring us mopeds including 1 for our 13 yr old daughter & giving us pointers on road rules haha, we rode the only road in Cambodia up to Bokor , next day to Kep & surrounds. As said we can't thank staff enough including our Trainee, Buttons 1&2 & the chefs, by far the best chicken wings I have ever eaten mmmmmm chicken wings & of coarse the Saraman . My congratulations to Denise & Dom for providing such a wonderful place for us to rest our heads, your staff are all fantastic and we wish you all the best for your upcoming trip.

An excellent choice for sleepy Kampot. The room was excellent as were the staff, who helped with all aspects of our travel and excursions whilst in Kampot. The restaurant food was excellent, indeed amongst the best meals we had whilst in Cambodia. Repesents good value for money.

Just a quick review really. We had a two night stay here and absolutely loved it. The bar and restaurant are a credit to the owners and staff. Our luggage was looked after at all stages of travelling and excursions were booked on our behalf, absolutely no hassle what so ever. Kampot is a sleepy town, but Rikitikitavi made a great stay. Look for the Irish bar pretty much next door and the stilted river restaurant next to the new bridge....hard to find but awesome...
