This is a strange resort. Looks nice from the outside, but has a very strange layout om the innside.
No signs telling you where things are. You have to find the resturants and bars on youre own. the rooms are ok and prices are good both for the rooms and food.
A LOT of things could be better. kids play area on 3 floor is just a tiny corner. the pool is small. the whole layout of the resort is strange. you have to go through a bar, a restaurant and over a small bridge to find the nightclub, and no signs telling you where to go.the casino part of the resort looked dull and boring, and almost nobody played the slot machines, or the tables( cards) would I visit again? no I would not

Having relaxed for an overnight at the Thansur Bokor Highland Resort, the hotel is located right on the top of the mountain, where you feel like paradise is truly existed. Everything about the resort is extremely stunning and worth for both short and long vacation. The overall price is acceptable for local and International travelers.

Particularly, Pina Colada the special type of cocktail brought back my childhood memory to live, the only taste of Coconut candy that I could barely live a single day without. It amazed me how such a great taste reminded me all about childhood where I would love to go back sometimes.

What even great, the Chocolate Mousses is uniquely tasted like "Wow." It is more than just a delicious cake, but delightful.

For the most part, the Thansur Bokor Highland Resort is strongly recommended for those who love to seek for peaceful relaxation with special treatments and outstanding activities. :D

This place is great! If you want to feel like a movie star then this is the place to go for a getaway. From checking in and out, everything is simply excellent. The hotel is located on Bokor Mountain which is a 2 hour drive from Phnom Penh. The complex is HUGE! We ate both dinner and breakfast at the hotel and the food was great! The rooms are nice and clean with a very comfortable bed and hot shower. I did booking through http://www.yourreservation.net/ which I got a very good price on the rooms ($30.00 USD cheaper then walking in). The website of the hotel is http://www.thansurbokor.com/en/. The casino part of the hotel is nice and enjoyable. I didn't check out the swimming pool or spa but my next visit I will. There isn't much to do at night but it still a very nice place to go and chill for the night or weekend.

Something is happening on Bokor Mountain. It seems foreign interests have pretty much bought the whole place up lock, stock and barrel. The Thansur Bokor Highland Resort is quite an oddity here, it seems like the first investment made on what is being planned as something along the lines of Las Vegas/Disneyland being built around it. I understand it is a Vietnamese interest that is pouring money into the place and at first glace it seems like a real attempt at being a Las Vegas casino, complete with neon and karaoke palace, but when you spend some time here, the cracks really come through. Such as....

I had to teach the croupier at the roulette table how to play roulette.

I had to expain the word "push" to the blackjack dealers.

I had to teach the bartenders the meaning of the word "double" when I wanted a double Jack and Coke on the rocks.

I stayed for three days and each night I won enough at the casino to not only pay for my hotel bill, but walk away with some of their money in their pocket.

I found the rooms decent, but considering what they're aiming at, they miss the mark. Not by much, but still. For most of the staff I encountered, the ability to speak English was a challenge and normally I wouldn't mention that because I always attempt to converse with the locals in their language, but again, understadning that Thansur is trying to be a world-class facility it's something that management needs to address.

At $110 a night, it's bit expensive considering the location. Bokor Mountain is a work in progress and there are many fascinating things to do and see there. It's a good tourist destination. But the Thansur is just too far over the top, like an elephant in a tide pool.

It's obvious the owners are aiming towards the future and hoping the Thansur is one of the big draws. If it doesn't pan out, it'll be yet another abandoned temple dedicated to excess which will be a mirror of one that exists not even five miles away. It's not a bad place by any measure. Just a tad on the odd side. It's like staying with the Addams Family. Weirdly enjoyable.

Thansur Bokor Highland Resort is a really boring place. A very big and new hotel without any atmosphere. The architecture weird and cold. The hotel has a casino which is extremely dominant to the place. The food in the restaurants is limited and without good taste. - this was confirmed by the Cambodian person, who I traveled with. The staff at the hotel were great - very helpful in all respect - but it did not change the overall impression. There is absolutely no where to go after dark - not a single restaurant outside the hotel.

The Bokor Highland is a kind of ghost 'town' although the few buildings cannot be called a town. Interesting when you think about the history of the French and the Khmer Rouge. And the nature is quite interesting and amazing. It is worth a visit. But do not stay at this hotel, which was the only place to stay when I was there. Therefore, stay overnight in Kampot!

Room Tip: I do not think that you can find a room with a nice view - a pity in a place like this.

I spend one night in the Hotel with my husband and our little girl, we have found the location itself amazing.
The design of the Hotel which is built in the middle of the national park is actually a disaster.
We never had a bad experience with service in Cambodia. But we were very surprised how attentive and well trained the staff in the Restaurant’s was. The prices are reasonable and the rooms are commutable and clean. The only problem was the air-condition, the temperature  control wasn’t working at all.

We stayed here for 2 nights. It is a fairly new resort, with some construction still happening which spoiled the serenity somewhat. It's a Chinese casino, and has a very typical old-school casino feel to it. There's not much to do here except eat, drink and hang out at the casino or listen to the (ordinary) live music in the large foyer area by the bar. The room was perfect, and the staff are extremely friendly. Service was great, but getting lost in translation cause a couple of problems with ordering food, but that's to be expected.

Unless you like to gamble, you come here for the isolation and the sights. The abandoned Catholic Church and old French casino were very eerie and surreal places to visit, just a short bike ride up the hill (you want to be at least a little bit fit). The old casino however appears to soon be re established.

The thick and almost constant fog adds an eerie feel to this place, high up on a mountain. It is significantly cooler up here, but still not 'cold' when we went.

Be cautious of the food.. Some of it is nice, but some is a little strange. I had one chicken dish in the noodle bar in the casino that I could swear was more like a piece of pigeon. Urgh!

You can also get a massage or go to the gym or pool in the adjacent building.
