Fresh temperatures and an amazing landscape. We visit the temples, the old hotel and the waterfall on Sunday, with a nice and fun ambient of local people spending the day.

The station might have been a great 'gloomy' hystoric spot, but the main building, the station, has been renovated and will be a highend hotel soon. No more old green-growth wall's and ivy, just plain concrete. The hill is bought by neighbour Vietnam which have made a brand new road gives acces to the area, so it's easy by scooter. No expensive tour needed. The downside is that Vietnam build a lot of new hotels near the hillstation which takes aaway the charm.. The old church is still there but not really worth the trip. Better go south from Kampot and scooter the scenery around.

Start from Phnom penh by car at 530 am saturday 13, entered the ticket post of the national park at about 8am. Just drove up, stop for photo at some points on the right viewing the Thailand gold, right over Phu quoc island of Vietnam.Road is very good, seeing lot of scouters up.we stop at the Yay Mao statute on the right, looking right down the bay, the scene beautiful, then drop at the Pôpo kirvil , a water fall, you can enjoy 1 hour here, walk around, litter bins available for all. Then go up to old temple of 5 stone ships:wat samprov pram, again beautiful view down the bay and junggle. The temple is in side beautifully painted, close to the Thansure resort hotel and casino.we check in 1 pm, rest untill 3pm, go to old church, the hotel palace, both are ruins and have beautiful sight. At 530 foggy, the police man stop us not going further.we go back the hotel , found a road to the training center of police near a nice pond, then back to hotel. Next day, some more place to see: the holly meditation stone place, a bit further from the water fall . Its worth one full day expedition and shoots.

We paid 40 US$ for a taxi to bring us to Bokor hill. Arriving we saw the ruins of an old church and the former casino. The main attraction now is the new casino, the big splurge of this place. They are also constructing now a complete new village now on this hill. If you are no a gambler and fancy casinos skipp this trip.

This area is now owned by the casino and they are in the process of renovating the old casino and plan to re-open it. They have totally spoilt this beautiful old building, lets hope they do not decide to renovate the lovely old church.
