“Surprising lovely”
Reviewed September 5, 2013

Stayed here for the first time last weekend, having visited Kampot many times before. I was instantly glad to be there, with the friendly welcome and the relaxed, peaceful ambiance. The main house with the pool and restaurant/bar had a modern yet understated feel and the beautiful garden made for a really lovely riverside setting. Of course the stunning view added to the natural beauty of the spot and the feeling of being away from it all - but not too far away... The menu was varied and inexpensive, service was always with a smile and the room was very clean, spacious and bright with plenty of towels, water, utensils etc. The terrace area was an added bonus to the room, as was the 360 view of Cambodian countryside (we stayed in the Upstairs Bungalow). The mattress was perhaps a little too soft but I’d certainly put up with that to stay there again, and again...

Stayed here over a friends birthday weekend.
Probably found it a little too expensive compared to other places, atmosphere was a little on the dull side.
Though I was able to get back the phone I had accidentally left in my room (thanks!) after I returned to Phnom Penh

The day before we left, after snoozing in my room not far from the pool area for an hour, I went back to our table, which had been cleared, and unfortunately my only pair of sandals were gone.((Havaianas, not available in cambo where I live)

So keep all your stuff close by you at all times!
Was a little put off that I asked the staff about them again as we were checking out, and some of the western managers were sat behind me, and they didn't bat an eyelid.

Overall, a nice setting, decent sized pool
Would go back- but with personal speakers and a good playlist

Thank you for the feedback ! It is very difficult to keep track of all the flip-flops of our guests, but we'll try harder on the minor issue. When you come back, please share your playlist with us so that we can add it to our very large choice of music.

Pretty far from town and the road can get really bad during monsoon season, but staff drove us into town in the 4WD vehicle. Extensive menu- western and Khmer- and one night the owner brought us free apps. Beautiful setting and views. Boathouse rooms have slatted windows with no screens, but mosquito nets provided. If you're looking for a quieter room, get one not in the main building.

stayed here two nights. Local staff were awesome, really friendly and helpful and good laugh. Nice setting, really nice grounds, nice little pool and good extras like a pool table, table tennis etc. Too far out of town to walk, but it's $3 for a taxi to town so no big real trouble. We stayed in the boat house down by the river. Beautiful setting and appealed to me as felt like i was living in a tree house. My girlfriend didn't like it so much as she is a city slicker and wasn't so keen on the midges and bugs at night ( no nets on windows). Also at $30 ( mid range in cambodia) would have expected hot water and a little less rough round the edges in the room. All in good place, but maybe a bit over priced when compared to other places we stayed for same price on the trip

Villa Vedici has a lot going for it. Spacious, attractive grounds and a very nice spot on the river; nice little (surprisingly deep!) swimming pool and a pleasant poolside area; nice bar; pretty good food menu with some Mexican dishes that bring a refreshing change from the usual international fare; a games room with pool table, table tennis and table football all in a good state of repair; plenty of options for the more adventurous: quad bikes, cycles, motorbikes, wakeboarding, water skiing; pleasant rooms - we had the upstairs bungalow which was spacious and had a very nice balcony sitting area; friendly staff.

So all in all, we enjoyed our brief stay here. Might have given it five stars, but for: very weak electrical supply with frequent trips and power cuts, amazingly low voltage at times and not sufficient to run the A/C; broken media server meant the promised 600 movies accessed from the TV were not available; after a heavy rain the drive became a lake, requiring paddling to to get to the main house; staff could just have been a bit more welcoming on arrival - some other hotels do it better.

Room Tip: Rooms in the main house are close to the action (pool and bar) but noisier. The bungalows at the bac...

On a recent visit to Kampot we visited VV for lunch and a swim.
A lovely spot on the river with beatiful views of the mountains.
Food was quite good and the pool refreshing on a hot dry April day.
The place is a bit tired and far from town down a dusty road
