It's a lovely place to stay for a bit of relaxation. We stayed in one of the Yurt's overlooking the river which was nice. The rooms are fairly small and basic. They provide mosquito nets. The pillows were the hardest pillows I have slept on in all of Asia and Europe (travelling for 6 months), but we were only there for 2 nights. Just keep in mind that it's an eco resort - so not hot showers or flushing toilets. We found the food to be a bit pricey compared to in town - to be expected though - and not overwhelmingly great (sorry!). The staff running were very friendly, and their English was great. Location wise, it's about a 15-20 minute tuk tuk ride ($4USD) each time you need to get to town unless you hire bikes or motos. The road can be a bit bumpy/muddy on the way in and out so be careful!

Yeah, not all bad, but too expensive, too hard to get too and the location is on a dirty side river, not the main Kampot river as we thought. The bathroom was the real dealbvreaker as its in desperate need of renovation. Ganeesha may do you OK if you want peace and quiet, but there are much better equipped places in town like Le Soleil Dor or Mea culpa.

We were really lucky to be the first visitors to Ganesha after their change in management. Emmanuel and Pahl were lovely and so knowledgeable about the resort and Kampot. The cook made us delicious, authentic Khmer food. We felt like we were home after a busy day in Phnom Penh.

The location is amazing, along the river just outside of Kampot amongst the rice paddies. I really enjoyed swimming in the river an sleeping in a yurt. Thanks so much for the relaxing time. I'll definitely be back and recommend Ganesha.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great. If you want to wake up and jump in the river I recommend the 2 person yurts...

This was one of my favourite hotels of our trip. Its a beautiful relaxing place which I would recommend for an extended stay. Unfortunately we were only in Kampot for 3 action-packed days so the location was a little frustrating when trying to make 6am buses. The staff were full of great advice, and the hotel offers some great facilities like boat rides and canoes for hire.

Room Tip: The Riverside Yurts have a beautiful view and are a lovely place for couples to stay

This eco-resort is the most peaceful place I experienced while on my trip. It definitely is a place to go for those who are low-maintenance and want to soak in the natural surroundings. We could have easily spend a week staying there just to relax. The owner and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. My favorite thing was the location... settled in between a Buddhist village and a Muslim village you can walk around and the locals friendly greet you as the kids run out to yell hello when you pass by. Spending a day in Kampot or Kep and getting back to Ganesha by the end of the evening.is possible.

This place is just stunning, the views from the rooms are incredible and the area is so peaceful. Kampot itself isn't so nice, but Ganesha is about 15 minutes out of town, in the countryside and you really do get to see the real Cambodia. There are river tours and you can take one of their canoes out at sunset which is beautiful. It is really back to basics which was daunting at first, but I can honestly say it has been the highlight of my whole trip to South East Asia. The staff and owner are really friendly and helpful, and I can't wait to visit again.

Room Tip: Khmer House is big and has a lovely balcony area.

I have stayed there twice and it is absolutely my favorite place around Kampot. Relaxed and quiet spot in the middle of a beautiful nature. Free bicycles and possibility to rent a canoe, did both, canoeing was definitely worth it. Chilled lounge area and good menu with reasonable prices. Shared bathrooms are clean and eco cold water which is totally fine in Cambodia. Stayed in a khmer house (private bathroom) and also in a riverside yurt. After I stayed there they built tribal huts which are inviting so I have to go back there again. Helpful staff and a friendly owner. Highly recommended if you are ready for the eco experience.

Room Tip: Riverside yurt might be a bit small for 2 people. Try khmer house or tribal huts.
