Its realy worth to stay in this lodge and I will come back.

We had a wonderful stay at Tarangire Safari Lodge on our recent trip to Tanzania. We stayed in one of the tents and were pleasantly surprised at how comfortable it was. There was a nice warm shower, flush toilets, sink, and a very comfortable king sized bed. The electricity was on until 9:00 and the staff walks you back to your tents after dark. The staff was very helpful and tried to make your stay be great. Everyone was very pleasant and the staff did a super job of making us feel welcome. Food in the dining room was excellent and had lots of choices on the buffets. The view from the dining room, the terrace and the tents overlooks the valley. We were able to see lots of animals in the valley and they came out to drink from the river in the early evenings. There was wildlife that came up close to the tents but never felt unsafe. There was Wi-Fi available in the lodge, a nice gift shop, and a pool. It was cold enough when we were there that we did not swim in the pool but enjoyed sitting around it. Lots of people from different parts of Europe and the US to visit with. After a day on safari, it was nice to come back to the lodge and sit on the terrace with a drink and free snacks and enjoy the wildlife in the valley. It was a nice place to stay and I would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: We stayed about half way down in the tents. This was great as we had a super view of the valley and...

This was one of the nicest places we stayed.

The resort isn't huge so it was a lot more personable than some of the other bigger resorts.

The tents are fantastically decorated with lots of character. They also had an en suite hot shower and toilet. The bed was comfortable and you have to be escorted to your tent at night in case of the animals. There is no electricity in the tents but there is a central charging area by the bar. Drinking water is also provided in your tent.

The location is amazing, each tent overlooks the valley and has a spectacular view. There was also a nice pool and it was still hot enough to swim in it when we were there. I just wish we could have stayed longer.

The common area and restaurant part was fabulous. Again tastefully decorated and the food we had was very good - the omelette in the morning was one of the best I've had and the muffins were delicious.

All the staff we came across were helpful and friendly.

Wi-fi was available in the common areas and there were free snacks available to go with your drinks at sunset.

A great place to stay.

I spent 6 days in Tarangire National Park while staying at the Safari Lodge. I stayed in two tents (different configurations) and a bungalow. All of them were incredible, each night I had an excellent dinner and was then sang to sleep by the elephants, lions, and baboons. This is a great lodge, and the first place I would recommend for anyone traveling to Tarangire National Park.

The staff is helpful, and speaks "good english." The meals are top notch. The grounds are perfect, and oh my god...the view from the lodge (and tents/bungalows) is truly awe inspiring.

Room Tip: You likely just want a tent, as they are beautiful and more affordable, but if you can spring for a...

Hello DaveShumway,

Thank you for your excellent review! :) It was a pleasure hosting you here!
Glad that you enjoyed both the tents and the bungalows & that you had the animals sing your lullabys! It would have the opposite effect on most people :)
We hope you can visit us again for another long stay!

Probably the best view in Tarangire. From the lodge we saw many many elephants near the river. You can sit there for hours. The staff is very friendly. Tents are rather basic but ok.
The food was very good. Watch out for elephants. The frequently visit the camp, even in daytime.
We also did a nightdrive. Rather expensive, but we were very lucky to see a leopard next to the car and two bat eared foxes.

Room Tip: Tents 17 and 22 have a great view on the river full elephants. Be sure you get the booking of these...

This was a great place to stay. The tents were very comfortable and we had a king sized bed. The toilet and shower was fine and the water was hot in the morning. Electricity is only on between 6 and 11 in the morning and 6 and 11 in the evening and there are no electricity sockets in the tents so any recharging of telephones or cameras etc had to take place in the reception area. The reception area and the dining room are tastefully decorated and comfortable and staff were all very friendly. The terrace and indeed the whole lodge has the most amazing views of the Tarangire river and we watched elephants and zebras and buffalo wander around.
Leaving your tent is prohibited after 11pm which is wise as animals do wander at night. We had 2 lions walk past our tent during the night and we watched them from the terrace in the morning as they were still close by!! all added to the great experience of this lodge.

Hello SandraK291,

Asante sana/Thanks alot for your review!!
Glad you enjoyed your stay with us! :)
We decided to move charging out of the rooms due to a guest almost burning down the tent after he put a 110v appliance into a 220v socket. We figured better Safe than Sorry.

The animal acitivity around the lodge is phenomenal! Yesterday we had a lion kill in the valley and some guests were lucky enough to watch the whole thing unfold! This morning a lion took a terrace cushion off a chair and took it into the valley with him! :)
This truly is the best time of year for animal activity!!
Hope the rest of your trip in Tanzania was enjoyable!

Karibu tena/Welcome again!!

What a beautiful spot! As soon as you get off he car you are rewarded with an amazing view of the savannah and the river below - probably one of he best views in the whole of Tanzania! The staff at the lodge are amazing and provide an excellent service. Annette and her family have run the lodge for many years and do an excellent job of it. Their son, Brenden, took us on a game drive one morning in the lodge's open truck and proved to be a great guide and extremely knowledgeable about animals. We were also lucky to receive a visit from a herd of elephants at the lodge one morning! Our stay was perfect and I hope to be back soon.
