The hospitality, staff, amazing location and unique tree bungalows make this a truly remarkable one of a kind experience. Lori and Johann were very pleasant and the staff (especially Mbazi) were completely attentive in the most alluring way. We would happily return to spend another breathtaking evening watching the water hole with a cold Kilimanjaro, then be escorted to our room by a legendary Masai warrior.. Cheers!

Well, I have to say that Treetops has been the nicest surprise for the whole safari over the last days in Tanzania. We were assuming some limitations in advance for being pretty much in the middle of nowhere, but this hotel really exceded our expectations.

Accomodation : Excellent rooms built on wood perfectly integrated with the trees and landscape. These rooms are spacious, really ample and very well decorated. Rooms are built really on the top of the trees ( however, in order no to cause harm to the tree, the room sustains on wood poles. The result is beautiful).

Cuisine : Excellent too, sophisticated and very good quality .If someting has to be said here is that they should put more in the plate. After one day of safari the chances are that you get back to hotel really hungry, so a little more food is always welcome.

Service : Staff is really good and they make you feel comfortable at all times.

Recommendation : Dinner with table under the open night sky in this national park is beautiful. Hotel staff prepare a bonfire and lay the tables around it with. Really gorgeous...don´t miss it !!

Total rating for this hotel is EXCELLENT. This is a must for Tanzania.

Room Tip: Any room in this hotel is really nice

Took the Elewana flying safari earlier this year which cannot be surpassed. Tarangire was one of our stays and was wonderful. Attentive staff and managers, even up at 4 am to get us tea before a balloon flight and still there when we went to bed after a full day out and a magnificent bbq, best lamb I have ever tasted. Bit chilly in the mornings in the bathroom, but thats all part of the fun. These are no ordinary tree houses but luxury tree houses.
Only problem being Elewana takes you to such luxurious and interesting properties to stay at that I would have to give the Manor 5.5 stars for luxury, but then it is a different sort of property.

Lodges
We stayed in treehouse 6 and we highly recommend it as it's literally sitting in a Baobab tree. While we requested that lodge when we booked, upon arrival we were given another one that was simply elevated and not in a tree and it was also a good distance form the main area. We requested we be relocated to a lodge in a Baobab tree and were accommodated with 6, which we thoroughly enjoyed. That lodge had good proximity to the main lodge. The room was quite large with a seating area, an enormous comfy bed and generous deck. The bathroom was also very large and was sectioned off from the balance of the room. The shower was designed to allow two people. To access the treehouse you go up steep circular stairs and enter your entryway porch through a trap door. While we were guests, hot water was provided between 5-10a.m. and 5-10 p.m. by locals starting a fire for your onsite water tank. Those folks were on-time and the system worked fine for us. You feel remote in your lodge. We would workout outside (at ground level) and run before the heat was too intense on the paths around the lodges. We felt safe.

Main lodge
This is were you'll enjoy your meals, cocktails and onsite shop. You could relax, read, journal, etc. in the main lodge prior to your meal. Snacks are offered. You can meet other travels or just enjoy the scene. The dining area was open and under cover. Food was fresh, tasty and generally with good choices. One of us is a vegetarian and we had no issues with options. Coffee took a bit long to get so you may wish to pre-order if you're heading out for an early game drive.

Property
Overall well-maintained. The "pool" was right in front of the main lodge. We didn't try it.

Of note
This lodge is a good distance from the national park and takes a bit of travel back and forth, although you can view game and get an "African" massage (massage via 4x4) along the way. This lodge is part of the Elwana chain so if your traveling to other locations in Tanzania that have an Elewana hotels look for specials if you stay in more than one lodge.

Communications
Staff was pleasant. The rooms have walkie-talkies. Ours weren't functioning up to snuff so we had minor challenges communicating with the main lodge. Very few folks spoke English (we're from the US.) That didn't bother us as we were guests but wanted to flag it as it could be a barrier for some.

Takeaway
The lodge in the Baobab tree and the scenery made this stay a unique and special place.

If you want an amazing experience, then look no further. This place was absolutely incredible. The views, the ambiance, the service...just amazing! We got to our own private treehouse and were settling into our rooms when what did we hear? LIONS!!! We heard lions huffing in the distance. It was incredible!

The staff was so accommodating and friendly. There was only one oops, and it wasn't even that bad. They did forget to come escort my wife and I for dinner...and there are no phones to call the front desk. So, we took a leg off my tripod and ventured up the path making as much noise as possible. It felt like a scene from the original Parent Trap movie where the lady was hitting the sticks together to scare away the bears. Quite a fun little adventure and we were quickly met by a resort staff member who safely guided us to dinner.

Our only regret was that we only had one night in this magnificent place. It was truly spectacular and the highlight of our trip. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.

Room Tip: They're all good...probably the best in Tanzania!

This is an amazing place that will spoil you whilst the surroundings remind you that life is really pretty basic: eating, reproducing and surviving.

The staff are amazing and can not do enough for you. They listen and remember so you never have to state a preference more than once.

If you go there are a few must do things. Spend some time in the bar watching wildlife at the watering hole. We saw a leopard, elephants, lions and more.

You can drive yourself around the park but you will miss so much, go with a guide from Treetops, we spent 4 days with Jackson and Alex. They were perfect hosts and could spot animals I struggled to see with binoculars and directions. Thank you guys for an amazing 4 days.

If you are at all unsteady on your feet ask for a room with a ramp. The others have spiral stairs which are tricky to negotiate even for fully able.

Masai village is a must do. Be repaired for very very basic conditions and a very warm welcome.

If you are a light sleeper take some ear plugs. Sound really travels. You are in the middle of the bush and you will have elephants rooting around outside your room and some very loud night birds. Whatever you get don't worry the Masai provide security and staff watch your every step to be sure you are never in danger.

Not a place for young kids, teenagers that are really interested maybe but I would say this is really an adult destination.

This place is what everyone dreams of at one point. A luxurious tree house haven. This was our favorite lodge that we stayed in Tanzania. We were a group traveling together, and although this lodge was pricey, we all agreed it was well worth it. An experience like no other!

The managers Lori and Johan were lovely and all staff very accommodating, wanting to serve you at every minute. We loved Tarangire Treetops so much, we decided to fore-go our final day of safari and just relax around the lodge. We enjoyed the outdoor boma around the fire for dinner and the food was excellent. Breakfast and lunch were also delicious, we cannot fault this place one bit. We raided their gift shop, as prices were very good compared to most other hotels/gift shops we stopped at. Wifi was fast and we were able to catch up with emails while gazing out over the watering hole.

Since wild animals roam around the lodge, you are escorted back to your tree house at night. We saw elephants and baboons at the watering hole in front of the pool. We were also treated to morning coffee served to our treetop which we enjoyed on our beautiful large balcony. They also did our laundry in a very timely manner (which was included). We were treated like royalty at Tarangire Treetops and we only hope to visit again soon!!!!

Room Tip: We were in room 6 - closest to the lodge which made the walk one of the shortest.
