Stunning individual accommodation, part wood and part canvas, built into the trees. Wonderful food and service with a bar and restaurant looking out over the pool and a watering hole. As it's located in a private park, we were able to do a night game drive and a walking safari, getting really close to the 'local elephants'.

We have stayed there only one night, and this was the only "disslike" connected with this lodge. Staff amazing - during check out we did not pay for any service we used - it was a complimentary gift at the end of our short stay. Before Tarangire we have been at Serena in Serengeti and Ngorongoro and I can not even compare these lodges. Tarangire has its own spirit, reception builded around 700 years baobab tree - just amazing!!!
Masai people in front of the lodge as welcome meeting after horrible 30km ride. This ride was worth all the effort. See the pictures. We lived in house nr 15. Under the house I have found "fresh" and huge elephant poo - very exciting for EU citizen :) In the morning few gazelles were feeding close to our place. See the pictures....I took some panoramas. Want to come back someday....

Staying at Treetops was a wedding gift given to us by a good friend. We had never been on a Safari before nor did we have any experience with tourism in Tanzania. We were blown away by the enchantment of Treetops and the people who worked there. From the moment we arrived to the time we drove home, we were entertained, care for, and educated about all the wonders of this part of Africa. The Managers, Chris and Jo are delightful and authentic. Their vast experience in Safari tourism / hospitality manifests through stories, professionalism, and laughter. We feel they have brought something unique to the already elaborate lodge.

The Baobab Treetop rooms are wonderfully rustic yet still elegant. The down comforter is top-quality and the hot, two-person shower is a brilliant touch to the adventure. It is not often that we feel so caught up in a fantastic adventure and yet so comfortable and looked after. Case and point: they bring fresh coffee with the early morning wake-up calls! Each Treetop suite has a large balcony which looks out over the treetops of the nearby woodlands. Our final night there, we witnessed a breathtaking sunset while sipping champagne. (Not Bad!)

Would we recommend Treetops to others? Without a doubt! I wish more people would enjoy the wild beauty of a Safari while experiencing the luxury of Taringere's Treetops.

As a sidenote: My wife and I feel the soups served for lunch and dinner at Treetops are decadent! A word usually reserved for deserts!

Best,

Barton and Val

Luxury surrounded by the bush. Utmost taste in decor as if you were sitting inside the pages of a very upscale adventure catalogue. Every detail has been thought of and taken care of. Best food we had in East Africa. Staff that truly cared about guests well being and happiness. This is roughing it without the rough part!

Warmly greeted by the staff on arrival; found the staff friendly throughout. Our room was "raised up on stilts" rather than "up a tree", but was luxurious all the same. The "completely open plan" layout of the room made the bathroom (& toileting) arrangements particularly "intimate". Being escorted by Maasai warriors during darkness hours added to the atmosphere. Food was fine; lounge area was comfortable. Treetops is about 45 mins drive from the park gate; but the National Park has no fences, and we saw the biggest herds of giraffe outside the park boundary; so whilst it is a long drive to get into the National Park proper, that doesn't mean there's no game to see...

We were greeted by the managers upon arrival with a cold drink and taken to our treehouse which was very nice. It was well appointed with nice linens and furnishings and very spacious. The bathroom is as private as possible considering you're in a baobab tree and it's actually quite luxurious. I spent a day up there feeling unwell but enjoying the deck and view from above. Night brings all kinds of noises which was at first a little hard to sleep to. When the fireman came to start the fire in the wee hours of the morning so we'd have hot water, the smoke from the fire was somehow comforting--the only indication he'd been there because he was soundless. Seeing the stars at night through the screening is lovely. They several times offered to bring up a martini or some kind of food or drink to the room, which I thought was wonderful. The common areas are open air and comfortable. Twice we roasted marshmallows in the fire pit. Food was excellent and staff were equally impressive. If I had to find a fault, it would be that it's a long drive to and from the park which I found unbearable by the end of my safari and that it's beginning to show a bit of age. Having stayed at Arusha Coffee Lodge, a sister property, I felt the common areas paled in comparison. Still, people are there to sleep in the trees which cannot be compared. I think it met my expectations but did not exceed them. Other properties like Mbalageti Camp were better.

We are just back from our honeymoon in Tazania (Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Zanzibar-Matemwe)

The most authentic lodge we have ever stayed is Tarangire Treetops: your super big suite is up on the Baobab tree, there are only about 10 suites-baobabs, you never see your neighbours.
You have the most beautiful feeling beibg inside a tree but with all luxuries (queen size bed, 2 showers in one, a big terrace to watch animals...)
At night a guard comes to pick you up and drive you to the wonderful restaurant, with the nicest menu ever (4 courses)
The Perfect place really
