“A Taste of Italy”

Giacomo's Italian Market
Ranked #40 of 901 Restaurants in Greensboro
Cuisines: Italian
Description: “Call it fate,” he said. Giacomo Santomauro, the grandson of Italian immigrants, did not initially set out to open an Italian market. Instead, he dreamed of life as a firefighter, ultimately landing a job in High Point. But the desire to carry on his family’s tradition prevailed, and, after the birth of his second child, he found himself returning to his roots. Nearly two decades later, Giacomo’s Italian Market continues to please the Greensboro community with great homemade, authentic Italian products. Since day one, our commitment has been to using only the highest quality, freshest ingredients and providing nothing less than superior service to our customers. Authentic, robust Italian flavors from homemade sausages, salamis and cheeses are what Giacomo’s Italian Market is all about. In a word, we insist on doing things the only way we know: the “right” way. Giacomo's has an extensive line of home-made sauces, sausages, salads and desserts, as well as an assortment of fresh baked breads and rolls. We would love for you to stop by our quaint deli for a fresh, artisan-made lunch! If you require catering for your party or special occasion, Giacomo's can prepare platters that will save you time without ever compromising taste.

This deli is the real deal located within the convenience of a strip center. Once you walk through the door, you're transported into an authentic, Italian deli. Homemade sausages and salamis hang over the deli cases using locally grown beef, pork, and chicken. They also handcraft a variety of cheeses, bread, salads, and desserts. I got a special with eggplant, fire-roasted tomatoes, mozzarella and salami. It was delicious. Seating is a tad tight. Plenty of specialty food products are also for sale in the deli and online. Looking forward to many returns.

Giacomo's is a unique Italian deli for the South making their own sausage, pasta, sauces, and breads. They have the best roast beef sub in Greensboro, the Dino. We love their other subs, too. Fresh bread and meats make the subs awesome. They gave limited indoor seating yet we have always found a table. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Super friendly staff got me oriented here on my first visit ... and I've been back regularly with each trip to Greensboro. This is a small location, but it's a gem! The fresh meats make for great subs and the tiramisu is to die for. Super high quality food, value, and people here.

Because this is a market there's a few tables but most people take out.
If you know and love REAL Italian and know the appreciation of their food, etc then this is it!
This is not an American Italian restaurant with pizza!
The staff are very accommodating - when I asked for a glass of wine he said just get a bottle off the shelf and I'll get you a glass. I got a beer though : )
This place is fun to try something new and enjoy watching/listening to others. Ask questions!
Don't go if you're looking for Macaroni Grill or Carrabas - not on the same playing fields.

Very helpful and friendly service from staff, spot on for the recommendation of the veggie sub. This is a small place filled with lots of items with Big flavors. This place is a stand out because of the quality and care in both their products and in the service from staff. In addition to having subs for lunch we brought home some freshly made meatballs, lasagna and chicken picata. I can't wait to go back and enjoy. This place really has a wow factor, especially being so far south.
