Description: Liberty Oak Restaurant and Bar is a family owned restaurant operated by Chef Kristofer W Reid. Liberty Oak has been providing great tasting, innovative American cuisine with top notch service for over 35 years. It is located in the heart of downtown Greensboro with a convenient parking deck beside it. We are recognized as one of the city's favorite gathering spots. We occupy Greensboro's oldest commercial building (circa 1883), complete with a historic tin ceiling and original oak wood floors accentuated with photos of historic Greensboro. Longtime food critic John Bachelor cited Liberty Oak as "The restaurant that started it all for Greensboro" by being the first to offer innovative, freshly prepared and moderately priced American cuisine. Named by Southern Living Magazine as one of the top "204 food finds in the south in the "uptown foods" category. We offer a full bar, patio seating, Saturday brunch, and a space for private parties. We now offer catering! Call for resevations.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at this restaurant. Great service, delicious food, very interesting atmosphere. Everyone enjoyed their meals (there were 4 of us) and we are looking forward to our next visit to Liberty Oak.

My husband and I went there for Valentine's Day dinner(our first time there for dinner) and we were not impressed. It was crowded and we did have reservations for 7:30. The "couples" seating were against one wall(one long cushioned seat) with small tables and chairs. We were so close to the couple next to us that we could have joined their conversation. NOT romantic at all! The service was great and our waiter Carlos was wonderful! The food was(to quote the previous review) "not worth the money". We had been there a few years ago for lunch and it was pretty good. Guess we'll just stick to that.

They seem to be confused about their identity. Servers wear jeans and shorts but customers seem to range from formal attire to to shorts. The price if entrees range from about 20 to 30 dollars. The meal was ok at best. The are Liberty Oak & Bar but they only serve beer, wine, & martinis... Not the place for me.

Lots of options. Salads, soups and sandwiches. Great atmosphere with outside dining and a full bar. Not the greatest value but still worth the price.

I've always enjoyed the dining experience at Liberty Oak. We try to make time to stop here when we attend performances at the Triad Stage (which is literally just around the corner). Make sure to visit in the fall when they are featuring the sweet potato/ginger soup.....it's worth the trip alone. I've tried many dishes here and I'm always pleased. Great local brews on tap too.
