A great stay in GSO. Staff was very friendly, seamless checkin/out. They have a great restaurant on site (Printworks Bistro) which is a must do. Great food and very good selection of NC craft beers. Rooms are perfect, very clean with many ammenities. Gym is well equipped. Oh...and LEED certified so very earth-friendly!

We’re so happy to hear that you enjoyed many of our amenities during your stay! A meal at Print Works Bistro is an excellent addition to a reservation at the hotel. We hope that you return in future, especially in the warmer months when our fitness studio has its sliding door open to the pool area. Fresh North Carolina air can make any workout more enjoyable!

I didn't know this hotel was "the greenest hotel in the country" when I booked it but the solar panels visible on the roof as I approached were my first clue. Elegant (if a bit dark) lobby with pleasant, eager-to-please, if a bit harried front desk staff. In the room, nice bed and well-appointed bathroom. It's to the hotel's credit that being green doesn't mean sacrificing elegance or comfort. However, my big complaint is: the rooms are appointed with aesthetics - not functionality - in mind. No real desk. No comfortable chair (for "desk" or otherwise). Nearly impossible to find outlets to charge devices. And a small TV shoved way up high in a corner of the room. Still very nice overall but these issues kept me from giving it a top rating.

We’re so happy to hear that you found our sustainability practices unobtrusive to your overall stay. We thank you for our feedback regarding the design of our Loft King Corner rooms, which was created with more of an intimate feel to it. Should your business travels bring you back to the Proximity, you may wish to try our traditional Loft King room, which has a large sitting area, with plenty of space for working or relaxing.

The Proximity is an unexpected, delightful place to stay in Greensboro. Billed as the first LEED platinum hotel in the country, it is both attractive and cool- with many thoughtful touches. If anyone needs to be convinced that very low resource use can be beautiful and comfortable, they should stay a few days here. The staff is attentive and friendly and the in hotel restaurant is a Greensboro hot spot and serves tasty food. No complaints, just praise!

We love that you appreciated our modern, yet eco-friendly design. Our goal during the design process of the Proximity was to ensure that none of our sustainable practices caused any sort of sacrifice in comfort for our guests.

It sounds like you enjoyed not only our hotel, but our sister restaurant Print Works Bistro as well. Print Works has a wonderful array of French-based cuisine, and is always a great choice for breakfast, lunch, or dinner!

I cannot say enough about this hotel! Stayed there as a dear friend was hosting a birthday party there. The staff was amazing! They felt like family! The manager on duty, Theresa, was so accommodating and even assisted us with set up for the party!! The hotel was chic, yet cozy and warm. The restaurant, Printworks, was delicious as well. We enjoyed dinner and brunch - the French Toast was awesome! I will definitely return for an extended stay and highly recommend this hotel if you are in the triad area.

Green Features: The environmental practices did not negatively impact the luxury quality of the hotel.

Thank you for sharing your positive experience with us! It sounds like you had a relaxing, yet exciting weekend with us!

We’re happy to hear that you had several opportunities to experience our restaurant. The French toast is a favorite dish among most of our guests, and we’re glad to hear that you feel the same. Our menus do change seasonally at Print Works (along with our sister restaurants, Green Valley Grill and Lucky 32), so keep an eye out for new dishes!

The hotel is very modern, perhaps too much so for my taste. But the staff is wonderful! My two biggest complaints are: (1) operating the TV/cable system is not easy (and I travel often and am used to operating different systems), and (2) when paying $200+ a night, guest should be provided real coffee creamer, not powdered fake stuff.

We’re glad to hear that our staff was a highlight of your stay with us. We pride ourselves in having a staff that provides prompt and friendly service to our valued guests. It is great to hear they delivered!

We also thank you for your very helpful feedback. We are especially disappointed about the creamer, as we do make it a point to provide that for each guest. We’ll be following up with our housekeeping team to see why your mini-cooler did not have the complimentary liquid creamer.

Next time your travels bring you to the Greensboro area, you may wish to look at our sister hotel, the O.Henry Hotel, which has more of a classic feel to its design. We bet you'll love it!

My husband and I only spent one night but thought the large room and huge bathroom were fantastic! Loved the layout. Late check-in but the staff was very helpful and the room was cozy and warm even with all the windows and bitter cold outside. Wish we could have stayed longer…. A bit pricey, but worth it.

Room Tip: High floor was great for view.

We’re glad that you found shelter from this winter weather in one of our spacious Loft-style rooms! We have several different room designs, so each new stay brings an opportunity to experience the same amenities in a different layout. All of our rooms have the double vanity in the bathroom, so you’ll always have plenty of space, no matter which room style you choose.

We hope that your travels bring you and your husband back to the Proximity soon!

I'm writing this review on behalf of my parents. They spent their 36th wedding anniversary at the Proximity, just a one night getaway. After check-in my mother text messaged me saying that everything was beautiful and better than she had imagined. They stayed on the top floor in a King spa room, great views of Greensboro. They ate at the Print Works Bistro for a late lunch and she commented how all the ingredients were extremely fresh and everything was all-natural.(The burgers were delicious) The property was really nice and everyone was extremely hospitable throughout the hotel. I had dessert, a card and a bouquet of flowers delivered to the room as a surprise. I had a friend deliver it and the staff set it up in the room for a small fee. They were pleasantly surprised once they returned to their room. The room, decor and shower were lovely, but they didn't get a chance to use to tub. There were nice robes in the room, a business center right outside their door that was accessible to all during there stay. Complimentary wifi was also a hit because upscale places typically charge astronomical fees for access. They pre-ordered breakfast the night before departure and it was delivered to the room at exactly the requested time (7:15), they enjoyed it but it was rather pricey for a standard breakfast. Based on their stay I definitely look forward to staying at The Proximity in the future.

Happy anniversary to your parents! It’s extremely flattering that they chose to celebrate this milestone with us. We’re happy to hear that they experienced a great deal of what our hotel and restaurant have to offer. Print Works Bistro provides an excellent addition to any overnight stay, especially when breakfast in bed arrives promptly outside your door in the morning! We are sad to hear that they didn't get a chance to enjoy that large soaking tub in the Loft King Spa room, but that just means they’ll have to come stay with us again!

Cheers!
