Beginning with the visitor center where you you should plan up to an hour understanding what took place there over 200 years before, you then have opportunity to walk or drive the park where the various battle lines formed and battles were fought. As the events that took place there were a key turning point in the Revolutionary War, the park and their excellent staff is an excellent way to understand some of the basic building blocks of our nation. Highly recommended!

The Park Museum is very informative and interesting. This battle was instrumental in wearing down the British Militia and led to their surrender at Saratoga.

The battleground is one of my favorite places for a long, meandering walk. Stretches of shady, wooded paths for you body with historical monuments and information for your mind make this a great place for solitary walking or family outings. Bring your camera, you may find a a feeding doe or family of deer around a secluded bend in a path. Be sure to spend some time with the restored monument to General Greene, for whom Greensboro is named. The visitor center presents videos, art, and Revolutionary War relics for those interested in NC's role in the war and it is all free! Revolutionary War re-enactments take place a couple of times a year and are well worth the visit.

Starting with the well-planned visitor center, you can watch a film about the battle of Guilford Courthouse, which so crippled Cornwallis's invading army that it made his eventual surrender inevitable. The center also has a fine book store and many interesting exhibits. The battleground itself can be toured by automobile, bicycle, or best of all on foot. The interpretive signs identify all the important points of the battle, and there are also comments that you can listen to on a cell phone. In addition to its value as an historical site, complete with monuments that include the equestrian statue of Nathaniel Greene (the American commander) by F. H. Packer, the park is a popular place to walk, with or without dogs, and bicycle. I have been there at least once a month for many years.
