Like so many, the last attraction you often visit is the one right around the corner. This was our experience. The attraction commemorates the Revolutionary War battle of Guilford Courthouse, a pivotal battle for America's independence. The battle had lasted only ninety minutes, and although the British technically defeated the American force, they lost over a quarter of their own men.
The attraction is made up of a guest center and a drive/walk/bike riding path that takes you to the various stages of the battle. Be sure to stop at the visitor's center first. Their you can see both an excellent video documentary on the battle and also a presetation using maps to orient you for your tour of the battlefield. Once finished, you can use the rest rooms in the center, grab a free map of the battlefield and go for a ride or walk on a path/drive where indicator plaques identify the various stages and places where the battle was fought. A wonderful tour and most educational. Recommended for ages 10 and above.
