Walk through a beautiful Forrest and relive history. Great visitor center with informative dosens. You can walk or drive and either way you can spend about 2 hours or spend all day in the peaceful surroundings!

I have always wanted to stop here since I learned about the battle in college. The museum was your pretty typical park service history museum. The movie (map) was ok, but a little dated. No fee to get in to the park/museum. The drive around the battlefield with stops was well marked and informative. Overall, worth an hour or two if you are in the area.

Guilford Courthouse National Military Park is a peaceful, historic oasis surrounded by shopping areas and homes. Even when it is crowded it is peaceful. Visitors understand that this is sacred ground where people lost their lives. My most recent visit was in October. The Fall colors were stunning. I gave some relatives a driving tour of the park in August. They loved the park and were surprised to see it in an urban area.

This is a national park with free admission. They have the national park stamps if you are a passport collector. It has a nice museum. I recommend that area for families with older children and adults only. It is a lot of just reading signs and looking at old artifacts found. They also have 2 short videos. Outside you can either drive or walk to the different sites. Due to time limits we drove to each and read the signs and took pictures of the monuments. I think in the warmer months, it would be a really nice walk in the woods appropriate for all ages. The final monument is very impressive in size.

The trails are well-maintained and, though there is a road through the park, car traffic is usually not so heavy as to be disruptive.
