The hardest aspect for most restaurants, especially small chains and locals, is to be consistent, in both quality of product and service. That evasive goal was pointed out again with my experience at this pizza restaurant.
I called in a 2 pizza order at 11AM, and was told they would be ready at 11:30 when they opened. I arrived at the appointed time, and after a 20 minute wait (50 minutes from time of order), my order was ready. When I went to pay, I discovered they had placed the order for 2 15" pies, not the 2 10" I clearly ordered. Already late I paid and left - a $20 order having become a $40 order.
I was told the reason the order was not ready was they had to make the "Company Pies" first (the ones they serve by the slice) - a heads up on that would have perhaps be nice at the front end of the order. When I said that was simply not acceptable, I was rewarded with a blank stare, and no sorry of any description.
Neither pizza was at all good - the Veggie was soggy and under-cooked - simply awful fare. The other pizza was ordered with extra cheese and extra pepperoni because they skimp on both items on their normal - if there was in fact extra anything on the pie, I failed to find it - at least this one was almost cooked through.
I have been picking up pizza here for several years now, on almost a weekly basis - that will obviously not continue. There simply are too many choices out there to put up with such shoddy service and quality. I have never, never understood why restaurants don't understand that - the most important customer is the one already in your place because they want to be there - and you blow it with unsupervised, uncaring employees.
