Chose Grandover for a golf get away. Overall the experience was was great. Just be aware that a 42 inch flat screen tv doesn't mean HDTV. The analog 480i resolution puts you back to 1960's. Could barely make out the scores for the NBA finals or World Cup. With all the effort to provide a first class resort, why skimp on a basic available at one star hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a King room overlooking the golf course

We hosted a retreat for some of our customers at the Grandover and the US Open this year! The Grandover was a fabulous location with wonderful staff to help out where needed!! Great location, somewhat secluded but close enough to go grab dinner if you chose to. We at at the 2 restaurants on site and were very pleased! Very nice pool and hot tub. Unfortunately I didn't have time to experience the SPA or the fitness center, but I can only imagine they were top notch as well!

Will definitely consider the Grandover for other Business or personal travel in the future!

I recently stayed at the Grandover while shopping for furniture at Furniture land South. The Grandover is beautiful and the grounds around it are heavenly. The people were all very helpful and kind. I would not hesitate in going back. For the price we got you just cannot go wrong. Why stay at the Oh Henry when you can stay at the Grandover for much less. White linen table cloths and napkins and beautiful surroundings. We loved it!

Room Tip: Book a room overlooking the golf course.

Booked for a 1 night relaxing stay at a modest rate via website. I had some minor issues contacting the hotel ahead of time to ask about tennis, but, was a moot point because we never made it out to the courts! Checked in a few hours early to our wonderful King room overlooking the golf course and visited the pool for the afternoon.

The pool (and the entire property) is beautiful and well-kept, but, pool service drinks/food was slow to say the least. Nonetheless, the afternoon spent was great!

Decided to have a drink on the patio of one of the lounges adjacent to the golf course and then head to the restaurant for dinner. The restaurant is not cheap, but the goat cheese appitizer was well worth the money, and the main dish (albeit not what I expected, nor really wanted) was very good.

Breakfast was modestly priced and very good!

Overall this hotel exceeded expectations and was efficient, clean, and elegant. I've read a lot of comments that this property is dated (really??). This resort is anything but dated with new tvs, classic furnishings in the room, free wireless and tons of amenities, and I'm looking forward to another stay!

Room Tip: email any requests directly to the hotel. Also, the premier (or executive) King, facing the back of...

We've been hosting an annual event at this venue for a few years. I'm blown away by how attentive and professional the onsite staff is. Everyone from the event and space managers to their IT and AV teams - top notch, and they certainly make our event a pleasure to host, and a pleasure for our attendees! The only complaint we've had were grumpy bartenders, and that's so minor it's hardly worth mentioning.

I recently attended a convention at this resort. The hotel is 1st class all the way. Very friendly and helpful staff. They were very attentive to the guests. Very nice restaurant inside hotel. Rooms are large and very well appointed. If you are a golfer they have an excellent course and golf shop. Nothing negative to say about my stay. The shuttle to the airport was very easy to catch and they make sure you get back to the airport on time. Great stay.

If you ever need a grand hotel to stay at when your around Greensboro or Highpoint, NC you must try this one out. It sets on many acres having beautiful landscaping all around. What a great place to go and play golf as they have two outstanding manicured golf courses right there. It's just a resort that you should not want to miss. The rooms are so quiet you never hear any other noise outside of your own room. My wife and I never ate at the restaurants there, but I believe they had a total of three in the hotel. Pool outside and inside with a restaurant & bar. Restaurant & bar off from the pro shop with indoor and patio seating and the main restaurant off the lobby area with outside patio seating overlooking the flower garden and golf course.

My wife and I was going to Highpoint, NC to the world's largest furniture store (Furnitureland South) and this store is a treat in itself. So big it has it's own campus grounds with three separate multistory buildings on campus with it's own restaurant and starbucks coffee, etc inside the furniture showrooms.

Anyway, back to the Grandover Hotel. We had heard of this hotel, but new nothing about it or how far away from Furnitureland South it was. So, when planning the trip to buy furniture I went into Furnitureland South website. There I found a link to click on places to stay and woohoo, there was this hotel with a special rate if you where visiting the furniture store. (approximately 5 miles or less from store). Reading the information I found that Furnitureland South had made a deal with the Grandover Hotel for special rates for it's customers. Now, let me tell you it was so good there was no way to pass it up. We saved around 40 to 50% on our nightly room rate paying only $142.00 per night.

Keep in mind that I only rated it 4-stars. Little things like they hide their coffee in the morning, it's free, but if you didn't ask if they had coffee, then you would never know. Then we went to the pool bar to get a drink around 3pm and it was closed. Not much just a few things like this, but that's kind of a personal thing to me.
