We stayed for three nights at Isibindi Zulu Lodge as the only guests and enjoyed excellent service. The staff was very friendly & the food was delicious. Authentic & informative Zulu Performance & Dinner. Many thanks to Charlotte & Kyle who hosted us in a very familiar way (and we are sure it would be just as friendly & warm even if the property is fully booked).

We stayed at this lovely lodge for only two nights but we really enjoyed every minute. Spectactular scenery, friendly people, lovly homemade food from the Zulu girls. we even loved the dancing - it wasn´t too touristic at all.

Room Tip: Every room has got the same beautiful view.

We have just came back from this lodge. We have stayed over two nights and were very happy with our stay. The location is remote, the view is magnificient the people very nice, the food was good the staff very nice. The eco reserve is a nice place to have a game drive they do not have the big 5 but the scenic is fantastic. The Zulu hut is a must to sleep in, the view from the room is outstanding. This is a great place to relax and enjoy life quietly. The battlefield are close by.
this hotel is part of the Isibindi africa lodges group which include at least three others hotel we have stayed also at the kosi forest lodge and are now eager to discover the others hotel ! in therm of value money this is more expensive than a standard hotel but it is worth the price. We look forward to discover the one call Tonga beach and the one also in Kruger park ! you are doing a great job please keep going !

Room Tip: Peaceful stay

We chose this Lodge for our visit to the Zulu Battlefields and we were not disappointed. The visit to the Zulu Homestead, exhibition of Zulu dancing and meal were a bonus not to be missed. The accommodation is in Zulu huts but with all "mod cons". There is a communal lodge where all meals are taken. The food was very good and washed down with a good bottle of wine. Game drives are available should you wish. An excellent venue to learn all about the Zulu and there culture.

Room Tip: All rooms are close to main Lodge. The low beds may prove difficult if you have limited mobility

We had a wonderful stay, The staff were all friendly and went out of their way to make us comfortable. Special meals were prepared for our toddler, even though she was perfectly happy to eat the adult fare! We thoroughly enjoyed the game drives and appreciated hearing how the reserve is being rehabilitated after the land was farmed. The Battlefields tour with Mike Nel was also a highlight.

From the moment we arrived, after a fairly dreadful drive over the gravel approach roads done in thick fog, we felt pampered. Our beehive room overlooking the game park was really comfortable and well-appointed, and the sighting of a giraffe from our balcony was a great start. Throughout our stay (2 nights), Bruce was a wonderful host, making us feel like welcome guests. His game drive on our first afternoon was really good, with plenty of relevant information provided by Bruce. The dinner, with steaks cooked by Bruce (!), was excellent.
The Battlefields tour, conducted by Mike Nel for just my wife and myself, took the whole of the next day (after a superb breakfast). This was the high spot of a month's holiday for both of us. Mike's knowledge and presentation made the battles come alive for us, and was both moving and funny at times.
The Zulu Boma Dancing and Dinner that followed that evening was also memorable. The dancing and singing performed by some of the staff with a troop of local school children was magnificent as well as being great fun to watch. The Zulu dinner that followed was interesting, although maybe a bit more variety in the meat option would have been welcome. We also had a tasting of Maize Beer, which was actually rather good!
The weather during our stay (in early March), was not great - warm but a bit damp - so we weren't able to try the lovely 'infinity' pool, but it looked lovely.
We can thoroughly recommend this Lodge for relaxation, to visit the local battlefields, and to absorb some of the Zulu culture.
