Kasbah Igoudar

'Welcome at Home' is the friendly sign outside the reception. What an amazing place!!
The attention to detail in making one feel welcome and at ease, with not a care in the world, is what this place and the amazing people do best. Probably the most peaceful and relaxed one can get, with not a sound of traffic, majestic night stars, no need to rush or dress up for dinner, and special people who cannot do enough to help you in arranging airport transfers and trips to Marrakesh, collecting one reliably and happily on time, as promised.
The food, breakfast, lunch and dinner was authentic and served with a smile!
The bedrooms , swimming pool and surrounding gardens were immaculate and made one feel special and relaxed. The donkey trek, hammam and incredible massage were a real treat!!
A place well worth visiting if one is relaxed, down to earth and enjoy sophisticated simplicity.

Room Tip: The honeymoon suite was outstanding and very spacious for those requiring an extra bed for a little...

It was a surprise 40th birthday trip arranged by my wite and I enjoyed every bit of it and all 'extras'. Kasbah Igoudar is where romance is blended with heavenly bliss sliced with pampering hospitability and served in a friendly atmosphere which makes you feel on top of the world.
we had for a package: chartered quad rides, hotel meals, visited all the shopping spots, driving ang pick ups to marrakechs, birthday cake and party all inclusive! etc but nothing compared to the winding down to the cooling wind of the alps setting in the evening having cocktails and listening to jazz next to the candle light pool and just a few steps to your bedroom having filled up your tummy with the delicious variety of dishes.
The staffs were amazing and lovely!!!
Loved it all for 5 days!

Had a 4 night stay with my daughter in early July. We had a good journey with Easyjet and then had to wait 45/60minutes at the airport in Marrakech for a driver to take us to the hotel. The driver had the wrong information and whilst we were waiting for our names to appear (two females), the taxi driver was expecting a Daniel Thompson! Eventually arrived at the hotel (45 min journey from Marrakech) much later than anticipated and had to ask for some food as we were starving!. Rest of the stay was brilliant - staff very attentive and friendly. However, beware of all the extras e.g. meals, drinks, trips, taxis into Marrakech, this can soon tot up. We had booked half board and airport transfers, but was charged for evening meal until we made them aware. However, rooms very clean, breakfast good and great place to relax and unwind by the pool. Would definitely recommend the hamman and massage.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at Kasbah Igoudar! The grounds were beautiful, especially the pool area, which got plenty of sun during the day and was a lovely and relaxing place to spend the day. The staff upgraded us to the suite which was extremely spacious and very well decorated. The food was delicious, especially the chicken pastilla, and was priced well for the quality and quantity we received. The location was perfect as well; located in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, the kasbah served as a great starting point for our tour of the mountains, which we booked privately with Adil of 4X4 Camel tours who picked us up right in front. The only issue we had was when we booked our time in the spa. We were booked in a 5 pm time slot after giving them plenty of advances notice, but we were forced to wait 2 hours because the masseuse was delayed coming in from Marrakech. The hammam and massages we received were very good, but in order to become a full functioning resort, Kasbah Igoudar needs to have an on-site masseuse to avoid unnecessary and upsetting delays. Overall, we would definitely recommend the Kasbah to anyone looking to relax after the craziness of the medinas.

I am so glad, that of all the places I could have chosen to stay in, that it was this one.
I took a risk and booked a 3 night stay through a Living Social deal, to stay there in March.
Doing this kind of deal has gone horribly wrong for me before, but I decided to take a risk and do it. I am so glad I did!

I was met at the airport promptly by the driver and Amir who works at the resort. He was immediately helpful and in advising us and waiting patiently on the best boutique to get currency from.
The car journey was quite short considering where it is and very relaxing, driving through the countryside.

I have to say, after having decided to spend one night staying in Marrakech itself at the end of the trip, I wish to God I hadn't. All I can say is the charge for a taxi from the resort to the City is very reasonable for a door to door service.
There is also a bus from the local town which is walkable. It is regular and extremely cheap to get the bus.
For the sanctuary you get here, I can't recommend strongly enough that the journey time is worth the peace, absolute beauty and safety you get staying here.

The staff here went out of their way from the first step inside the resort to the last we took out of it; to be polite, helpful, kind and honest. They went out of their way to please and I've never known such a flexible and accommodating attitude to guests.

They upgraded us into the executive suite as it was available. The room was divine. The most beautiful I've ever stayed in. I felt like a princess sleeping in the bed and the room was huge.
I looked through the door at the standard rooms when they were being cleaned. The were smart and spacious and beautifully decorated also. I wouldn't have been disappointed to stay in one of them at all.

Coming out of your room in the morning and going for breakfast is an experience in itself. Breakfast itself was very tasty, a mixture of fresh breads and pastries. Olives, oil, jams, marmalade, fresh butter. Orange juice, water and tea or coffee. I was left full enough not to be able to finish every day.

It's also the best view to wake up too. It is like being at the bottom of a Greek amphitheater, but the Atlas mountains are the sides rather than stone seats.
It was really lovely and sunny, even in early March. The local villagers were lovely, one even tried to give me a sheep.
We walked through the local countryside, we rode a donkey for free through the resort, which was great fun. (I haven't ridden one since I was a child).

We also did a camel ride (organised through the resort) which was brilliant. We had an hour which was definitely long enough to have the experience. The same guy has the horses which I didn't have time to do. But he was local, the resort drive you and wait for you and the man was helpful and friendly.

We also had lunch and dinner at the resort. The beef and prune tagine was especially delicious. The food was all reasonably priced. The portions were generous. It makes it very cheap if you get 3 meals for the day as it's heavily discounted.

I also wanted to say that from what I've read and experienced first hand in Marrakech itself. We didn't suffer any rudeness, dishonesty or racism at the resort. I understand alot of people have had terrible experiences staying in the city. We had some very unpleasant ones. Crime is high, you are continuously harassed. Hotel staff try to rip you off and overcharge and you don't feel safe.

That is not the case at Kasbah Igoudar. The staff were explicitly respectful, honest, used the correct exchange rate and we felt completely safe and relaxed here. So don't be put off by others bad experiences. Just stay here and appreciate the beautiful countryside and mountains.

I will definitely be going back again, but with my children.

One tip: Don't sunbathe all day and then have a hamman. Those exfoliating mitts are unbelievably vigorous! Hamman, then sunbathe with your new magically smooth skin.
