If you want to get a look into the traditional life of morocco there is no way around Yussuf and his family
A Berber house with the loveliest and most authentic Moroccan family! Youseff welcomed us in a very relaxed manner and made us feel comfortable and welcomed. His Mum prepared dinner for us and I must say it was fantastic. The best and tastiest pastilla I tried in morocco without hesitation. Unfortunately, I was a bit sick so I could not eat the rest but again Youseff's Mum kindly treated me with some herbs which made me feel better. House is lovely and cleaned. Roof is amazing although still under construction. We had trouble finding the house but locals pointed us in the right direction. Youseff is just something else! A kind hearted young man full of kindness. Would recommend and would stay again.
Thank you again to you Mum for sorting me out with her remedies. ❤️
We had trouble finding the place but I blame the GPS we hired with the car. A couple of lovely locals pointed us in the right direction. Youssef met us at the door and toured us around his hand shaped unique building, then served us mint tea on the roof, just in time for sunset. Then for dinner he got his mother round to cook for us. She is awesome and happy feed us. Myself and Youssef have a wee musical jam, then exchange favorite music. Their house and energy's are great, there plans to renovate the building exciting for them and I wish them well.
We visited Youssef and his parents on December 26 (2 adults, 2 children Age 13 & 8) We arrived late in the afternoon and drank tea with homemade cookies. Youssef showed the house and we picked a room. He and his parents are Very friendly and you feel welcome the minute you walk in. The house is more than 60 years old build the traditional way. We stayed with another couple with their adult children. We talked, drank tea, and his mother Made a delicious dinner. Next morning we enjoyed the sunrise from the rooftop and again a perfect meal Made by mom early that morning, fresh baked. It was a great experience and we are Very happy to have met this lovely family. Dont forget to bring warm pajamas when you visit in the winter, there are lots of Blankets but it can be Very cold.
