“Beautiful scenery in the Smokies”

There is so much to see and do in Gatlinburg. We loved taking the tram to the top of Gatlinburg. There are some awesome views and photo opportunities here. The kids loved Kiddieland and riding down the Alpine Slide. There's also lots of shopping in Gatlinburg. We also walked some beautiful trails in the Smokies.

“a great time in the smokies”
Reviewed October 11, 2009

Had a wonderful time in the smoky mountains of tennessee July, 2009. it rained off and on the whole time but we were able to enjoy the many family shows and buffets. The rain is so quiet there, it gave a sense of peacefulness. In between the showers we were able to get in on the many go-cart rides pigeon forge has to offer while watching the brave hearts do the bungee jumping. I like the way the rides are integrated so the family can be in one area and different ages can take advantage of activities of their choice without having to really split up. Just a wonderful place to visit with the grandchildren. Tell jokes about the black bears until even the adults are frightened. We saw the Magic Show and it was amazingly great. Taking a picture of the tiger appearing on stage and actually shaking hands with the magician is awesome after the show. The Temptations were a great show also. I do not reccomend buying their cd from vegas. It's supposed to be their last performance together. It sounds awful. Just get the Smoky Mountain Temptations because they have incredible sound. Also make sure you buy your tickets in advance for more savings online. You have to come home with delicious taffy. It's sugar free, delicious and comes in at least thirty flavors. Try them all. Great to give out while telling others about your trip.

“Beautiful Gatlinburg!!”
Reviewed October 9, 2009

Gatlinburg, TN is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been! We stayed in a wonderful cabin close to downtown Gatlinburg. Our accomadations could have been a trip in itself. Gatlinburg is full of nature...waterfalls..trails..and the Smokey Mountains! There are all kinds of craft shops and tourist attractions. We ate at Bubba Gumps and had a great time being entertained by our server. We had a large family group and went whitewater rafting. We splint up into beginners and a little more crazy for rapids. We had a great time and ended our day eating a country dinner in an apple orcherd. There is great shopping along the downtown streets as well as into Pigeon Forge. This is not my first trip to Gatlinburg and I know it won't be the last!

“Stores, stores and more stores”
Reviewed October 9, 2009

Gatlinburg is a favorite destination of mine.

Such a quaint little town and you don't even have to drive, you can walk the entire town.

There are many shops, some think it is gaudy but I like it.

You can buy TN souvineers, go to the aquarium, Ripley's believe it or not, eat at McDonalds, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Shoneys or chose from fine dining. There are two tattoo shops (I got one at Cracker Jack Tattoos from Dave, very nice work)

You can take the trolly up to Glades Road which is full of artists shops, blowing glass, painting, crafts even a little pub to enjoy a sandwich and ale.

Some complain of the traffic but if you park your car in one of the parking garages (5.00) you can enjoy the beautiful fall air as you look out at the Smoky Mountains and see the unbelievable fall colors.
Everyone talks to you, there are so many activities for all ages, definitly the place to be.
I've been in the Winter, (just watch for the icy, steep, mountain roads, but Fall is the time to go and be just in Awe of the colors in God's country.

“Romantic getaway”
Reviewed October 9, 2009

I would recommend renting a Chalet in Gatlingburg, TN for any occassion, but I surprised my husband on our anniversary 9/21 with a trip to Gatlinburg TN and he was surprised thinking we were going for a picnic. It was a beautiful time of year in TN and although we only had from Friday until late Sunday we live close enough to have made the most out of our trip. On Friday and Sat. we stayed close to the Chalet for the quietness and nature aspect and throughly enjoyed the outdoor hot tub and indoor jacuzzi and then on Sunday after check out we headed down the mountain and into the heart of Gatlinburg and enjoyed some shopping and site seeing and ate lunch at a favorite spot by the rushing mountain waters. Blessings
