“Outstanding View, Great Location, Unbeatable Price and Greatest people to work with!”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

We usually visit the mountains several times a year and have stayed in cabins, hotels, condos and private vacation rentals thru out the years, but after we stayed at The Highlands we have found it to be the best of all worlds. The views are outstanding, the units have everything you need, the 4 nite specials are unbeatable, the location can't be beat if you want some privacy but still close enough to the bypass to get to everything within minutes and the people at the highlands are the greatest people we have ever dealt with in our travels. They are always friendly and go out of their way to make your stay the best experience. We will continue to stay at the highlands due to their outstanding service and committment to making our stays ones that keep us coming back time after time!!! Great Job to all the Highland staff! Special thanks to Howie!

We came here at the recommendation of friends who have stayed here multiple times over the years. Our previous stay in Gatlinburg was in a large cabin, which was awesome but pricey. This time I looked for something a bit less expensive. Found it! The 4 day special is unbeatable. The location is great- far enough to be out of town but close enough to be a quick drive away. The view from our balcony was absolutely stunning. Even our teenagers were impressed. I believe we stayed in what is called a two bedroom townhouse, with the master suite upstairs. Apparently this one was remodeled a few years ago and it was beautifully done; nice walk in shower and large jacuzzi tub, and nice trim throughout. Note that the master suite is one large room, including bed and bath, but it really opened the room up nicely and after the first day we didn't think about it because it was really very romantic. The downstairs room was very nicely done as well although a bit small (to be expected). Overall it was very cozy and well appointed. I have paid more for extended stay suites and gotten much less. In my opinion, this is probably the best value in Gatlinburg, especially if you are travelling with a family. Definitely exceeded our expectations- we will be back for sure.

My husband and I have stayed at The Highlands several times over the years. While we do like cabins, we keep coming back here. The 4 night specials can't be beat, we love the location off the bypass with easy entry into the park, and of course the beautiful views. We were in a newly renovated unit this time and it was so nice. I am already on the website looking at units for our next trip, can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: I love the view from the 1 bedroom on the front building, but we also like the 2 bedroom units becau...

We stayed 4 nights Aug 28, 2012 in room 202, 2 bedrooms with king beds, 2 bathrooms, 1 full bath & the other bath was the size of my bedroom at home with jacuzzi tub and stand up shower. Full kitchen with every dish, pot, pan, utensil required to cook meal. Full stove, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, dishwasher, dishwash soap. The view from balcony was absolutely stunning. Could have spent most of vacation on balcony. There`s also clothes washer & dryer. What else do you need. Very clean & quiet. Pool clean. Staff at front desk very helpful. We enjoyed the fact it was located up in the mountains, not in busy Gatlinburg. We will be going back. Must see excursions through Great Smoky Mountains National Park : Roaring Fork, Cades Cove & Clingmans Dome.

Room Tip: Phone them to discuss which room to choose.

This was our first stay at the Highlands Condos. It was very easy to find, right off the bypass and only minutes from GB and PF. We had a 1 bedroom (#407) that was located on the first floor in the front buildings of the complex. We loved our private balcony that had a gorgeous view of the mountains and Gatlinburg. We could even see the Ober Tram from our balcony. Instead of a whirlpool bath this condo had a very large shower with two shower heads. We knew this when we reserved the condo so not having a whirlpool bath was not a problem. The condo was very clean, updated and well maintained.
Even though we ate out the kitchen was equipped with everything you would need if you want to prepare your own meals. The Highlands staff was always very nice and gave us directions and information when we needed them. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay there again

Room Tip: Watch out using GPS. It was good until we got to Campbell Lead Road. We should have turned left ont...

Our first stay at Highlands Condos was about 8 years ago. We recently had the chance to visit Gatlinburg again and chose Highlands as our home base for the week. The condos are comfy, equipped with everything we need and the views are fantastic! A bonus was the free wi-fi! The staff is friendly and gave me great directions when we got lost. We decided to extend our stay by a day and they arranged it with no problem. The rates are very reasonable. We chose a one bedroom, but next time we'll get a two bedroom because it comes with a washer and dryer. We'll be back soon.

Room Tip: If you want to do laundry in the comfort of your condo, get a two bedroom. There is a laundry on sit...

The Highland Condominiums above Gatlinburg, TN offer a very nice location to spend some time in the Smokies. The condos are all individually owned, but we know of at least 3 which are very nicely appointed and maintained. I would assume the rest are the same. The complex itself also offers a nice atmosphere. The buildings are in nice shape, and the parking lot seems well maintained. There is a nice pool and hot tub where you can enjoy mountain views while you swim or sunbathe. There is a gas grill and picnic table under a shady tree.

The view from the Highlands is wonderful! You don't even have to leave your condo to enjoy the fresh mountain air and views of the mountains. You can look down into Gatlinburg and even enjoy the lights at night. However, if you wish to leave and enjoy the Smokies, you are only a short drive to the park entrance. You are also only a short drive to a beautiful creekside walking path for exercise and a short drive into downtown Gatlinburg. Ober Gatlinburg is nearby for skiing, ice skating, alpine sliding, etc.

The Highlands are a good value considering they consist of fully equipped condominiums ready to house you while you enjoy the Smokey Mountains.
