“Not worth the price!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

I've stayed in Best Western before in Illinois and I was pretty disappointed with this Gatlinburg location!
Really outdated rooms, and that makes them seem not really clean, our jacuzzi look old and dirty and all the doors were old and hard to open and close thats for a $129 room!! We only payed $110 because we had some type of promotion, but not really worth our money; lady at the kitchen super nice, polite and happy person.. Front desk could have nicer welcome service.. Hopefully they can make it better.

Location in Gatlinburg is superb, you can walk to everything, even with very young kids.

Loved the little creek running through the property, my son and I spent at least 3 hours feeding ducks and fish and skipping rocks. One of the few things to do in Gatlinburg for free. I was not afraid my son would get swept away in the current, the water was very gentle when we were there.

Water pressure at this hotel was amazing, and we never had a problem with running out of hot water.

Rate was excellent, I used one of those coupon books from the rest stop and was very happy, especially when I heard what other people were paying for the same room.

Our room was very very clean, especially the bathroom. Loved that it had 2 sinks, one outside of the bathroom. It made getting ready with two teens much easier.

Looked like it had been recently updated. Beds were extremely soft and fluffy, they were full size, would have been nice to have 2 queens. Flat screen tv, fridge, microwave.

Pool was nice, but pretty cold for my comfort level, so we didn't get in.

Breakfast was good, all the usual stuff. Two suggestions: real butter instead of whipped spread and non-stick spray for the waffles, then breakfast would have been great! They kept restocking the breakfast until the end time, which is nice, you don't have to worry about rushing before all the food is gone.

Use of a computer with a printer is provided, a nice view too!

Liked that we had a sort of patio outside our door on the water side with chairs, picnic tables and grills. Would have liked to picnic if the weather had cooperated.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating!

I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: I preferred our room on the first floor, direct access to the creek and ducks.

This hotel is in the center of all of the action. Close to shops, food and activities. The room was a bit smaller but did have two double beds. There was a stream that went all around the property with local duck. The room was clean and the internet worked. Breakfast was in a large room and had cereal, waffles, hard boiled eggs etc.

We booked this stay thru the Best Western Reservation Line and they stated that the room would have a "river" view. Our "view" was a dried up drainage ditch running thru the middle of the property. We were also on "Honeymoon Island" which sounds nice but when we opened the door for the first time, the room had a musty smell that never really went away. And when was the last time you saw a rubber mat for a bath mat???? Not worth the money we spent, at all........

It's a normal best western in a great location. This best western is a little closer to the crossroads one, but it is literally a 3 minute walk, so really not a large difference if the price is right. The room is normal sized, 2 double beds, bathroom, sink is outside the bathroom. Relatively clean, just looks like an outdated design, but a comfortable stay overall. We were able to walk everywhere on the main strip.

We had reservations and checked in early and were pleasantly surprised to find the room ready. This motel room was quite different from your standard room. There were sliding glass doors both in the front and back of the building. The front overlooked the parking lot and pool. The back overlooked a pretty lake with ducks swimming around. The room was quite large and the sink area outside the bathroom was huge. The counter had to be 8 feet long. The room was basically clean but it desperately needed to be updated. There was wood paneling on the walls, old wood furniture in the room, and there was a definite musty smell that was offensive. The bed was comfortable with nice new bedding, no problem there. As for breakfast, it was OK. They had waffles, eggs, biscuits and gravy, white and wheat toast and blueberry and banana nut muffins but no english muffins or bagels, as most motels have. Plus the usual cereals and coffee, tea, juice, etc. Food was good, but we missed english muffins and/or bagels. The motel was only a few steps from Ripleys Aquarium, which started the beginning of the "strip" of restaurants, shops, etc., so the location was definitely good. Also in the room was a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker, which came in handy. The staff was very nice. Other then the musty odor and oldness of the room, the place was fine. But I would hesitate to stay there again, until it was updated

Room Tip: As long as your room faces the lake, you can't ask for a better location
