“Nice room, but not a great location.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 20, 2012

We stayed three nights this past week. The front desk people were pleasant and professional and the room was nicely furnished and clean. Our room was a two-story setup, where the bedroom was on the second floor. We would rather have had a normal room. It got old walking up and down the spiral staircase. In shopping around we found Zoders is substantially on the high end of the pricing vs their competitors. The location of the motel is not great. Its on the north end of Gatlinburg, pretty far from most of the activity in town. We went for the wine and snacks our first night. It was OK, but the atmosphere was not too enjoyable. Its a room next to the indoor pool and the woman handing out the wine and snacks ignored us when we tried to make conversation. Next time we'll try somewhere else.

The best things about Zoder's are the value for the money, the wine in the afternoon and the location. You can walk almost everywhere form there. We spent 3 nights and found it very convenient. Our room overlooked the stream, which makes a nice sound day and night.

Room Tip: Room 224 is not the best unless you like hitting the toilet paper holder every time you use the toil...

We have going to Zoders for 20 years or more but have noticed a gradual decline in the quality of the rooms. Although our room was clean, the rooms are now sorely in need of some renovation. Our bed was hard, the tv was very old, and the bathroom needed some modernizing. The breakfast hasn't, changed one item in 20 years! The big draw here is the location with a balcony right over the brook. For years that was enough to keep us coming back, but there are now other motels on the brook which have higher quality rooms for a similar price.

What a surprising gem in the mountains! I wasn't sure how this hotel would be when I was only paying $109 a night when other hotels charged a lot more in the same area but was I SURPRISED!!

Stay here if you are in Gatlinburg!! It is wonderful.

We had a balcony off our room over the melodiuous creek. The room was clean, the beds comfy, the pool nice, and not to mention the wine and cheese AND the cookies and milk. Continental breakfast was great for my kids. Could I have used more there? Yea, but it was a small bump in the 3 days we stayed here.

Location was wonderful too. We did not have to travel through all the Gatlinburg traffic to make it back to Pigeon Forge OR even the Smoky Mountain Park Bypass.

Hubby and I stayed 4nights at Zoder's last week. We were happy with our room location and the balcony overlooking the creek. I could only find two problems and they were not enough to ask for another room. We had two beds and hubby's bed made a squeaky noise whenever he got up and down. And the bathroom door did the same squeaky noise everytime it was closed. It was almost comical, only because DH goes to the bathroom all night long.. Luckily I was able to ignore the noise and fall asleep. Everything else was great, the employees in the lobby were nice and helpful.
The room was clean and is one of our more important requirements. Since the traffic in Gatlinburg was awful, we loved the location of Zoder's and used the bypass often for coming and going to the park. Hubby enjoyed the cookies and milk in the evening. Andfor two mornings we did enjoy eating their breakfast to save time we had the bagels, hard boiled eggs, coffee and their orange juice was delicious. The ladies running the snack shop and the food were very nice. We missed out on the wine and cheese only because we were always late coming back to the room after hiking in the park for most of the day. Zoder's is within walking distance to the restaurants and stores for shopping, which was great..parking seemed very limited in Gatlingburg. For the price and the location we were happy choosing Zoder's and would recommend this hotel.

After staying just 2 nights at Zoder's, I am sad to be leaving. We stayed in room 119. They have two uncluttered bedside tables with plugs, great for my CPAP. They have lights on the wall over the bed, great for reading. They have two comfortable chairs by a large picture window overlooking the creek. Snacks and wine from 4-6 p.m. and cookies and milk from 8-10 p.m. were nice. Across the creek from our room is an outdoor gas firepit that has a fire going when it is cold. The front desk is friendly and helpful. We have a little transom window over the door to our creekside patio that you can open and hear the creek. The bed is very comfortable. There is plenty of cabinet space under both sinks. There is a small refrig but no microwave. Our room is entirely quiet. All we can hear is the babbling stream. The indoor pool is a good walk outside, which is hard when it is cold. I just wish we could stay longer.

Room Tip: Room 119 is the furthest room from the street in the older part of the hotel. Lots of privacy. A fir...

We stayed at Zoders for three days in October. This was a wonderful place to stay. The customer service was great, very clean its an old place but is updated well. We will be back next year for a family reunion. If you stay here you will not be disappointed!
