This place was beautiful. Very spacious. Awesome decks. Game room kept the kids and adults entertained for hours. The hot tub never worked. Someone was sent to repair it. It still didn't work...bummer. We had a problem with noisy neighbors, the staff took care of the problem right away. Other than the hot tub problem it was a great place to stay.

We had a mini-family reunion here over spring break and had a blast. the cabins were nice size, clean, and had everyting we needed. the pots and pans supplied were not very good as I have found with most cabin rentals, but we were able to get by. the grounds had a pool, and fitness center that was nice.

In February 2012, we stayed in a 12 bedroom (12 bath) cabin called Legacy Mansion and had the time of our life. The 12 couples staying there all agreed this was by far the BEST and CLEANEST cabin we had ever stayed in (and we have been meeting in February every year since 2007). This group loves to cook, play pool, and watch movies. We were able to do each of these with top equipment. The Gatlinburg Falls Resort has handled every problem we encountered (Needed extra pots and pans, large coffee pot, assisted with DVD setup [after all we are all 60 or over]). Their web site is very customer friendly and you always talk to a person when you call. We recommend this resort for anyone wanting a get away in the mountains. Views of Mt. Leconte were amazing!

Our family stayed in Smokey Pleasure at Gatlinburg Falls during Labor Day weekend 2012. Overall it was a great get-away for our family: my husband and I along with our daughter, son-in-law and 4 month old grandson, our college-age son and his girlfriend. Check-in was smooth and quick. The house was clean and spacious. I didn't see any bugs! It was advertised as accomodating 15 people; however, it didn't have enough dishes for that many. We ran the dishwasher after every meal. There were not enough casserole dishes or serving bowls as we cooked and ate all our meals there except one. Everyone enjoyed the games - foosball, air hockey, video arcade game and pool table. Sleeping quarters were nice and allowed for privacy and distance! I did notice there were no mattress pads on beds. Their pillows were flat and there weren't enough for 15 people. We did hear a large group below us making noise and locking their vehicles late at night (honk, honk!) They also were up early running around their decks making loud noises. We did not use the pool, but our children enjoyed the hot tub on our deck. Ample parking. Very enjoyable family time.

My husband and I have always wanted to go hiking in the Gatlinburg area, so I booked a cabin for his 30th birthday for us and our dogs on Sept. 6. Everything on the website looked great. We had stayed at another cabin in the area before and really had fun! However, upon checking in on the 6th, the representative at check-in pointed out my cabin on the map and I noticed that it was adjoined to another cabin. I specifically reserved Lazy Bear because it was a pet friendly cabin....how does it make sense that 2 cabins be joined together with two different families with dogs??? We could hear our neighbors through the wall which would cause my dog to bark at the noise everytime. Luckily they were very nice people and we weren't both at the cabin at the same time very much. Also, the photo online shows a wonderful view of the mountains from the porch with rocking chairs. When you get there, there isn't a single view of any mountain from that balcony. My husband and I got to stare at a few huge trees encrouching over the balcony. The company states that their cleaning fees are so high because they drain out and sterilize the hot tubes after every use. Silly me for thinking we actually got a hot tub! There was a jetted bath tub, no jacuzzi that needed cleaned. Not to mention the spider webs on all of the windows. So much for cleanliness. I'm a short, petite, female and I could barely even lift my arms in the shower without hitting the wall and curtain. If we go back to Gatlinburg, we will definitely be staying elsewhere. The only good thing was that we got to do some great hiking!

Room Tip: Be sure to ask where the cabin is located before booking to make sure you get a nice view and a deta...

Thank you for your feedback on your recent stay. We are truly sorry we were unable to meet your expectations while you were here with us. We do strive to be a luxury resort destination, and it is guests like you letting us know where we are lacking that helps us grow into a better company, so we thank you for that.

While most of our cabins do have hot tubs, we do have a very few that do not have hot tubs. Your hot tub fee should have been refunded as soon as this was brought to our attention. We are addressing this issue with our reservationists, so they will be better to inform the guest on such issues for future guests. Please call and allow us to make this right with you. Thank you for your time and the opportunity to rectify this situation. We wish to serve you again on your next visit to the Smoky Mountains.

We were extremely excited to spend a week away in one of these "luxury cabins" for our honeymoon. Having looked through their website and researched all of the cabins we went with the Brave Eagle cabin due to the breathtaking pictures provided on the website and seclusion/luxury it would provide.
About a half hour before we arrived for check in we received a call stating we could not check in to this cabin due to a power outage and there was no estimate for the cabin becoming available. Needless to say we were devastated, but understood a power outage from storms isn't completely in their control. Once we arrived to the office we were offered another cabin in their resort area. Something my wife and I were 100% against since our whole reason for choosing this honeymoon option was to be secluded and away from others. After some back and forth they offered us another cabin that was as secluded as they had available. After arguing we were also granted a 10% discount on out total for the inconvenience. We reluctantly agreed to this change with the stipulation that we could move the the cabin we had reserved ASAP once it was available. They promised to keep us up to date, but failed miserably to follow through.
We arrived at the cabin they moved us to, It Takes Two, to find a beautiful cabin on the inside, but very little on the outside. The cabin balconies faced directly into the woods which started about 10 feet behind the cabin. We had a better view of wood at our apartment and didn't need to drive 8 hours to see a worse view of it.The outdoor patio area was pretty much a mess and unusable along with a grill that was not suitable for food. The nice bench swing they told us about was chipped and beaten and in very poor condition. The one nice thing about the outside of this cabin was the hot tub on the deck. However, the controls did not work very well and it took us over a day to get the temp to drop a few degrees.
We spent the next two days living out of our suitcases hoping to hear from the office about Brave Eagle being available. No such calls were received. I called back each day to get updates and didn't get very far, until finally speaking with someone named Jennifer who was actually very helpful and polite. After hearing that Brave Eagle was still not ready we decided to give up on our dream honeymoon with a mountain view and requested we be refunded as much as possible so we could try and finish our vacation elsewhere. Jennifer, the only helpful person we talked to, ran this request through management and it was approved. Before we could get out of Gatlinburg we were called and told Brave Eagle was finally ready. We jumped at the chance to get at least two nights in the luxurious cabin depicted online and raced to get the paperwork from Jennifer.
Upon arriving at Brave Eagle we were simply devastated. The cabin was far from was was depicted online and compared to the previous cabin we stayed in it was quite simply a dump. There was a stale disgusting smell throughout, the living room with fireplace and flat screen TV shown online was actually a tiny little cube with a small, old tube TV. The grill outside was covered in grease and grim and nowhere near suitable for food. It was rather disgusting to look at. The hot tub on the balcony looked as though it was falling apart and was not working. We tried and could not get any controls to turn on. The water in it was dirty, slimy and cold. Inside we filled up the jacuzzi tub and turned on the jets only the watch it fill with debris and grim. The topper for us was having to kill a scorpion just outside our bedroom.
After all this we called the office immediately and told them we refused to stay in this cabin as it was grossly misrepresented online and explained the troubles with the amenities we were paying for. They agreed to fall back to the original refund we had discussed, but after all the back and forth, waiting and frustration our honeymoon had already been ruined.
Be very weary of the cabin pictures they post on their website because the real thing has a chance of being the exact opposite. Instead of relaxing in a luxury cabin with a beautiful view we spent the entire trip living out of our suitcases and calling the office. Following the end of it all it took us 4 days to finally contact someone who could verify the refund was put through properly. Thankfully we cut our losses with these cabins and went up to Lexington, KY where we were able to spoil ourselves for two days to try and salvage what was left of our honeymoon. We certainly will never do business with this company ever again and advise people to be very cautious of the troubles you may encounter with them.
Gross misrepresentation of the condition of the cabins is not the way to bring people back to the area!

Thank you for your comments. We are truly sorry that we did not exceed your expectations, especially during your honemoon. We apologize for the power outage in your original cabin. While this was an unforseen problem on our end and we tried our best to re-accomodate you, we understand how important this time was to you and the frustration it caused. We do strive to be the best luxury cabin rental company in the area, and could never do this without the help of guests letting us know where we need work. We are conducting a full investigation into these cabins with the problems and concerns you have addressed. We are coordinateing with our Services Department and Owner Relations to find a solution. We would appreciate the opportunity to prove that this is not a typical experience of our guests. We would love nothing more than have you back as our guests. Please call us and allow us to speak to you about the problems you encountered. Thank you again for you feedback! We look forward to serving you again.
