My friends and I booked the Buckberry for a 3 day girls trip and we loved it! It is a cozy hotel in a serene setting. The view from our gallery suite was amazing and the room itself was very accommodating. Our room included a private balcony, an over-sized soaking tub, a large shower, comfortable bedding, a separate living area with a fireplace, and a kitchenette. The lodge has an on-site .5 mile hiking trail that leads to beautiful Buckberry Creek and it is a short 2-3 minute drive to Smokey Mt. National Park.

This hotel has totally changed my opinion of Gatlinburg. I was not fond of the town until I stayed here, now I can't wait to go back!

This lodge gets high ratings and is one of the reasons why we chose it. We travel a lot. This is not a 4 star. Checking into our suite, we had to call maintenance about the balcony door. A high end property should be paying attention to details all the time. Also, the balcony of your suite, has no privacy. The room next door can look into your balcony, and most have a door that connects your balcony with the living area of the suite next to yours.
TV's should not be in the room without warning. TV's are up at the ceiling, so you'll be looking up if you chose to watch something. As well as someone can hit there head on the platform that holds the TV which sits right at the end of the kitchen area that leads to the sitting area. You walk into the kitchen upon entrance to your suite. The problem is the light switch for that area is only by the door. You have to walk through the area to turn lights on or off from the bedroom sitting area. The views are nice overlooking the valley down below. Liked the feel of the rooms and sitting up at tree top. Bathrooms were nice a roomy. Priced a little to high for what you are getting. But people are willing at pay as they were pretty booked when we arrived. We would not go back.

We were looking for a special place to stay. This place had great views, a beautiful setting, and charming rustic decor. Front desk service was good but we had no other experience with the staff because the dining room was closed for redo. Breakfast was placed in the self sufficient room with a nice kitchen. The room was charming and comfortable. The drive down the hill to town was curvy but manageable. We loved this hotel and would go back.

We celebrated our 50th anniversary here. It was wonderful. The setting is outstanding and the lodge is beautiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a delicious dinner on the balcony overlooking the Smokies. We felt pampered. I cannot think of any negatives.
