This was a small hotel in a beautiful setting with luxurious rooms. I was fairly disappointed that, although the hotel appeared to be almost empty, we were put in a room with zero view (probably one of only a few rooms with no view). The building we were put in was also somewhat difficult to navigate - it was separated from the main building and the main walking paths. It was hard to get to and from it - there was no direct way. The 'included' breakfast was beyond disappointing (although the view off of the terrace was quite nice). Of course, if you wanted good food, you could order and pay for it.

All in all - this was one of those hotels which is trying to be a full-service luxury place but just isn't quite there. I expected a lot more for the price.

Room Tip: Stay in the main building if you want a view other than a wall of trees.

Nice little winding road leading up from Gatlinburg. leading you to a different world. Very serene, rustic beauty nestled high above the mayhem. The lodge is small enough to make it feel cozy, yet big enuf to provide everything you need. The gas fireplace was a nice touch with an amazing view off the private balcony. Appliances, many outlets, large tub w/jets and comfortable bed.
Check in was pleasant and accomodating. Outstanding views from almost any angle from the grounds of the lodge. The restaurant food and view was outstanding and understandably not cheap. We werent in the mood for chain hotels and this was perfect

I have stayed in many hotels and this hotel is by far my favorite one ever! It is an upscale log cabin with all the luxuries of a 5 star hotel! Breath taking scenes from the hotel balcony and the restaurant porch! It is close to downtown Gatlinburg and the Smokey Mtn National park...but just far enough from the hustle and bustle! Wonderful continental breakfast in the AM..they have thought of everything at this hotel...love, love, love this hotel and will be back again! Can't wait to come back!!!!!

My wife and I loved our stay at this beautifully appointed lodge. The grounds are a great introduction to the natural diversity throughout the park. Views from the dining deck and the quiet, mellow breakfasts started each morning. The dining at night was fantastic too. Wonderful, friendly staff, and easy access to town on back roads really added to the experience.

If you are interested in upscale accommodations with a rustic feel, you should check out the Lodge at Buckberry Creek. Safely tucked away in the mountains between Pigeon Forge and Gaitlinburg, the Buckberry is far enough away that guests can get away from the hustle and bustle of these two tourist centers - yet close enough to reach either town in a matter of minutes. It is this same delicate balance that the Buckberry maintains with regard to its accommodations. Guests who want the rustic feel of the Great Smoky Mountains but desire more upscale features than a traditional cabin rental will find the Buckberry to their liking. Make no mistake - the Buckberry is not a Four Seasons but is still very nice within the confines of what it is trying to provide. A continental breakfast is included as part of the room cost. The offerings are a bit slim (cereal and pastries with coffee and juices) but the scones and other pastries are made fresh daily and are absolutely delicious. You can also order off the menu at an additional cost. Both days they experienced shortages of plates, coffee, etc. but did their best to keep up. I can agree with some if the more negative reviews that the staffing is a bit short, but the managers rolled up their sleeves and helped out. Rooms are comfortable. Ours had a living room and a bedroom. An older tv and DVD player were located in the bedroom. Wifi is also complementary but they were having router problems and we were only able to connect briefly. The sofa had a pull out bed - which our girls used. We folded it up the next morning and we were pleased to find that they checked and made it up again for our second night stay. Two fresh baked cookies were placed in our room each day. They even tucked the cookies in the arms of my daughter's teddy bear for the second night. There is a .5 mile trail (each way) on the property that leads down to a pretty creek. I figured it was going to be a simple walk in the woods but there was a lot of terrain - not overly difficult but more than a path than I was expecting. All in all, a very pleasant stay.

My husband and I fell in love with the Buckberry Lodge, spotless modern room yet styled in the traditional lodge feel. Luxurious bathroom and bed, great balcony, seating and views that were breathtaking. Great restaurant and service that was excellent. The owner visited with us both nights at dinner.
We would stay there again with pleasure Love the Bucberry lodge and grounds!!

Room Tip: They all looked great

We go to Gatlinburg at least a couple times every year and let me just say, this is the best kept secret there. Forget trying to find a nice cabin. This place has great views, a great restaurant, and unbelievably nice accommodations. From the fireplace, to the walk in shower room, to the jacuzzi tub, everything there is first class. The daily homemade fresh cookies left by housekeeping on the bed are what put this place over the top. Such a neat place!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Lodge at Buckberry Creek has brought the elegance of the “Great Camps” of the Adirondacks to the pristine beauty of the Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee. Designed to reflect the retreats created in the Adirondack Mountains over 100 years ago by some of the East Coast’s wealthiest families, Buckberry Lodge pampers guests with the true natural grandeur of the Adirondack architectural style. Nestled away high above Gatlinburg, Tennessee, The Woods building offers 14 luxury-suite rooms from 600 square feet to 750 square feet. Rooms feature fireplaces, private balconies, bathrooms with separate showers and Jacuzzi tubs. The majority of our suites have a King bed but we do have a few rooms with 2 Double beds. Rest, recharge, and relax within your suite or enjoy the area attractions of Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains. Our property is less than 2 miles from the entrance of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and all the beauty it holds. We are also less than 2 miles from Downtown Gatlinburg. There is a firepit which overlooks Mt. LeConte – a great spot to unwind & relax. Although we have experienced a great loss since the November 28th fire, we are very fortunate to have The Woods building to share with our guests. We look forward to welcoming you to The Lodge at Buckberry Creek for your Smoky Mountain lodging destination! ... more   less
