“Best place in Gatlinburg”

Cozy room, warm fires, beautiful views, steamy soaks in the tub and yummy room service. My husband and I barely left the room for 4 days! When we did it was for hiking the trails and getting some mountain air at the National Park. We had no need to drive down to the busy city but could have if we wanted to shop or sit in traffic lol. It was a much needed, great escape from our busy lives. Maid service was excellent too.

I think there should almost be two different reviews...first the good news the food is wonderful. Breakfast is creative and huge....dinner creative and small. They are very pretentious about food. That is usually a good thing except when they charge $3 for after dinner coffee. The food is wonderful everything from the breakfast menu to the scones, including dinner and the cookies on the pillow! The service was wonderful and very attentive.
The not so good...the rooms are rustic. Quirky interior such as dog pictures and birch bark trim furniture. That means no rug on the cold bathroom floor, one old tv, view from room of trees, fireplace you lug your own logs to build (someone had apparently burnt the rug from such an adventure), and no internet all weekend. The place is showing a lot of wear for such a short time. Not a big deal unless you are expecting a higher standard place which by the price you certainly would expect.
It was my birthday and I picked this place for the weekend. We did have a great time and a wonderful weekend. I would definitely go back for breakfast!
I do want to say that the staff were very nice, helpful, and their relaxed attitude helped us to have one also. We felt they tried very hard to make our stay a great experience.

Room Tip: don't miss breakfast..the best part of the deal!

We thank you for vacationing and dining with us, and for offering your opinion about your stay. It is always disappointing when we hear AFTER the stay that a guest was not happy when they were here. We strive the serve our guests to the fullest of our abilities, but we have to know what you need while you are here in order to make your stay the best possible experience.

We are so happy to hear that your enjoyed breakfast - it's one of the best kept secrets int he area - scrumptious breakfast fireside, with a mountain view. It's odd that you would use the word "pretentious" describing our restaurant and the food, as it is noted for being the opposite.

Only the top floor suites have wood-burning fireplaces. Many people specifically request them over all the other rooms with gas fireplaces. Housekeeping resets the fireplaces every day, and there is a convenient supply of wood right outside on the walkway on the top level. If bringing them into the room was in any way inconvenient to you, we would have happily brought the logs into your room for you - you just need to ask.

As to the WiFi, we have had a series of storms through our area that damaged our system. Our staff attempted to notify guests when it went down the weekend you were here, and to advise that WiFi was still available in the main lodge building, just not in the guests rooms. So many of our guests come here specifically to escape the demands of everyday and the requisite technology, that we don't assume that any particular guest NEEDS technology on any given day, even though we provide all the modern conveniences.

And, yes, each of the suites here at the Lodge at Buckberry Creek is unique. The partner/designer who selected the furnishings and accents for the rooms did so with rustic luxury in mind. It is part of what makes Buckberry different from every other hotel in the area. No "cookie-cutter" rooms here! Just thoughtful comforts and unique touches to make you feel at home in the Smokies.

We were not expecting such lovely accommodations when we decided to come to Gaitlenburg. We expected a kitschy, touristy town, a stone's throw from Dollywood. What we found was quiet in lush surroundings. The scenery was beautiful and our young adult children were more than happy with the hiking trails and fire pit on site. The restaurant was also a pleasant surprise. Our rooms were great-really nice bathrooms, comfy beds and a kitchenette. Everything we wanted to do was close by-fishing and the national park were a stone's throw. A great time was had by all.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversay in December at the Lodge. What a great experience we had. Beautiful scenery (upgraded for the best view), room with kitchen was excellent (althought I refused to cook) and the staff could not have been friendlier or more accomdating. We were disappointed the restaurant was closed Sunday and Monday (the two nights we were there) so we have no review for the food except for the continntal breakfast which was adequate and met our needs. We were presented with a surprise gift in honor of our anniversary! Thank you so much and we will definitely visit again.

We just returned from a 2 night stay at the Lodge - 2 moms and 3 boys ranging from 9 to 11. Everyone had a great time. We stayed in 2 of the gallery suites and they were both beautiful with excellent views. Lots of room including a full kitchen. Our favorite part of the stay was riding down the mountain to the creek pavilion. What a beautiful, peaceful place. Plenty of room for the boys to play by the creek and woods while the adults relax by the fire. The location of the lodge is great, too. Feels very secluded, but just a few minutes to town. It was a peaceful retreat to escape the crowds in Pigeon Forge and experience the "real" Smoky Mountains. Can't wait to return!

My family just returned from our first stay in Gatlinburg and we were so thrilled with the accommodations at The Lodge. First off, it is the perfect distance from the touristy hub bub of downtown Gatlinburg. It is only a short 5 minute ride up the mountain, but you feel as if you are in a completely different serene and majestic place. The suite was perfectly clean and decorated beautifully. The view from the lodge into town and up the mountains is gorgeous. Everyone we encountered from check in, food and beverage staff, maintenance (internet connection needed rebooting in our room) were very friendly and helpful. We loved the short hike down to the pavilion area and the fun ride back up in the all terrain vehicle. Our only complaint and keeping me from giving the EXCELLENT rating was the restaurant. We found dinner to be very average and completely overpriced. The menu lacks diversity and there were no additional specials the evening we dined there. The dining room is such a beautiful spot, it is truly a shame that they can not offer an equally as perfect dining experience. The included continental breakfast was ok- nothing special, but the offerings off the ala carte menu were quite good and fairly priced.Overall, I would certainly recommend the lodge and we do plan on going back.

My family & I just returned from a 2 night stay, Christmas Eve & Christmas day (2012). I work in the hospitality field so I always find myself paying close attention to details. The Lodge @ Buckberry Creek did not miss a beat! From the extremely pleasant staff, to the cleanliness of the beautiful suites, to the superb quality of their food, I have never experienced such perfection. It had been 25+ years since I've been to Gatlinburg, but should I have the opportunity to return, I would definitely look forward to staying here again! Thank You for making our Christmas one to remember!!!!!

Room Tip: No tip needed! They're all beautiful and have great views!

Designed to reflect the retreats created in the Adirondack Mountains over 100 years ago by some of the East Coast’s wealthiest families, Buckberry Lodge pampers guests with the true natural grandeur of the Adirondack architectural style. Nestled away high above Gatlinburg, Tennessee, The Woods building offers 14 luxury-suite rooms from 600 square feet to 750 square feet. Rooms feature fireplaces, private balconies, bathrooms with separate showers and Jacuzzi tubs. The majority of our suites have a King bed but we do have a few rooms with 2 Double beds. Rest, recharge, and relax within your suite or enjoy the area attractions of Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains. Our property is less than 2 miles from the entrance of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and all the beauty it holds. We are also less than 2 miles from Downtown Gatlinburg. There is a firepit which overlooks Mt. LeConte – a great spot to unwind & relax. Although we have experienced a great loss since the November 28th fire, we are very fortunate to have The Woods building to share with our guests. We look forward to welcoming you to The Lodge at Buckberry Creek for your Smoky Mountain lodging destination! ... more   less
