Buckhorn Inn has a set menu every evening, and reservations are required. On our trip, the food was amazing. The meal started with fresh sundried tomato parmesan bread straight out of the oven, followed by a cup of roasted red pepper tomato soup. Next came a spinach salad with gorgonzola and a homemade vinaigrette. The main course was a crab cake and shrimp over a bed of wild rice and asparagus with a mango reduction sauce. And, the course that we took home because we were too full to do it justice, a slice of orange carrot cake.
The food was exceptional. The crab cake was obviously made of quality crab meat, and not fried until you can't taste the difference like you get at many places. The presentation of the dishes was excellent. And the best part, in my wife's opinion, was brought out first in the form of a fresh-baked loaf of bread. The wait staff was kind enough to pack a loaf to go for us after we told them how much we liked it.
Overall, fantastic food. The Inn is nice, but the atmosphere more fit my grandparents than myself (about 30). The furnishings were all new, but had an antique feel to them. There was a nice fire in the fireplace (real logs, not gas). And the staff was very pleasant. We will definitely come back here. Check out the menu on their website and figure out which evening's menu looks best, and book a reservation. You won't be disappointed
