“Great food in queit setting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 3, 2009

We were served a delightful meal multi-course meal, accompanied by the great wine we brought for the meal. The service was gracious and prompt. The meal lasted almost two hours , letting us enjoy every bite. The food elegantly presented and was full of flavors. It was clearly a meal to remeber.

“Unique, romantic getaway”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2009

My boyfriend and I already made reservations at an area hotel in Gatlinburg prior to our trip there but I wanted to plan a special dinner during our trip. I found the Buckhorn Inn on tripadvisor and felt compelled to go. I called for a Valentine's Day reservation but could not get in. I was disappointed and the woman who took my call went out of her way to get me in the next night. The location is clean and has a eclectic, romantic feel. My boyfriend and I found the inn easily and were greeted at the door by a sweet, fat basset hound. We let him in and then we realized he did not actually live there and he was thrown out. Our table was in the library, off the main room, with three other tables. The dinner was a set menu with vegtable beef soup, a salad with a shallot viniagrette, a stuffed chicken breast in a puff pastry and a chocolate tart. The service was excellent. We appreciated being told in advance that the establishment did not have alcohol but that we were able to bring our own wine with no cork fee. Wine glasses and chillers are provided. My only complaint is that the inn was so incredibly quiet that we had to very cautious with our conversation so that the people beside us would not feel like they were a part of our dinner. This would not be an appropriate place to have small, loud children unless you wanted to get some really nasty looks from other diners. After you enjoy all the lights and flashiness of Gatlinburg, the Buckhorn Inn provides a quiet retreat where all of your culinary and service expectations will be exceeded.

“Wonderful Retreat”

Very nice, well kept inn. Particularly impressed with the evening meal...one of the finest I've ever eaten with superb ambience and service. Highly recommend for a weekend getaway for more mature couples (40+).

“Perfect Retreat, Gracious Innkeepers and Staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 1, 2008

This was our second visit to the beautiful Buckhorn Inn, lovely as ever in the fall colors of the Smokey Mountains. The accommodations are excellent, we enjoyed Cottage 7, the privacy, the cleanliness, the views. The food for both breakfast and dinner were consistantly delicious, and service is gentile and friendly. Dinners are rich and consistantly too much food, but all of it a real gourmet experience. Breakfast has a range from truly decadent to simply healthy, and we appreciated the options.
The raging fire in the gigantic dining room fireplace, along with the fantastic mountain views, guarantee a delightful experience. Value is very high. Our goal is to simply sit very still and relax for a few days, and Buckhorn hits the nail on the head for us. Everything is appropriately relaxed and one gets the feeling that all of the staff enjoys what they do. We love quality B&Bs, and The Buckhorn rates as a gold standard for us. Many thanks to all who make it so perfect and thanks to the incredible beauty of The Smoky Mountains in fall.

“Great dinner location!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2008

We did not stay at the Inn but made dinner reservations for one night. The price is $35 per person for a four course meal and you can bring your own wine/beer/liquor. We got there early as we heard there was a beautiful view from the porch. This is true!!! Be sure to go early and bring a camera. The view is spectacular. The food was great. We had a southern catfish stew, field greens salad, cornish game hens, and a blackberry key lime pie for dessert. Everything was great! Someone in our party did not like Key lime pie and still thought this dessert was great!!!! Dinner is served at 7pm every night. We brought our own wine and the staff was very accommodating. We are thinking of staying at this Inn in the future. It has a great location (along the arts and crafts loop) and is quiet and peaceful. We picked up a brochure and it seems like they have fairly good package deals. If you're looking for a place to have gourmet food in a nice setting, I would highly recommend this place!
