The food was good but a little overpriced. For just me and my wife I payed over 60 dollars, and frankly for 30 bucks each I'd much rather be eating steaks at a steakhouse. However the outing was redeemed by Neese who was doing the entertainment. She was excellent. Really hilarious, she sings basically anything and even did quite a bit of improv songs.

We had excellent steaks on our first visit. They use a wood fire grill and the taste really comes through on the steaks. They make wonderful blue cheese and ranch salad dressings. The garlic rolls are really good. We had chicken parmigiana on our second visit. The serving was huge so be sure and bring your appetite for this one. The deserts are homemade and wonderful. The staff is super friendly and warm. Nee-see is a fantastic singer and makes you feel welcome from the second you walk in the door. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. This was our first experience here and it definitely will not be our last. The restaurant sets off the road a bit but look for the "Big" tree with the moving lights.

I had the BEST Trout Picatta here. Service was good. The building itself is built on stilts and overlooks a mountain stream-- very pretty. It is set back a ways from the road, so if you don't see it right away, keep looking. It's worth it.

This restaurant is off the beaten path in Gatlinburg. We have been coming here for years through several different owners and names. The food has always been good, but what brought us back this year was the singer they had last year. We called to see if she was still there, and when they said "yes", we were in. Neesee is fabulous. She knows almost every song ever sang. We go to see her, but the food is good also. We had a great time again this year and hope to come back next year also.

To celebrate a minor event we decided to have dinner at the Bear Creek Grill only to find it's not Bear Creek any more. The place kind of looks the same but it's only a shadow of its former self. Our 'waitress' (she could hardly be called a server) was straight out of a two-bit diner. We got the food then she disappeared for the rest of the meal. The food was fairly nice but grossly overpriced although they did offer a very nice, reasonably priced bottle of wine. My girlfriend liked her rib eye and I had a great piece of blackened trout with a side of mash potatoes. The astonishing thing was that the mash was thickly coated with brown beef gravy! With seafood? I think the chef mixed me up with the guy who was having meatloaf!

The final "coup de grace" as they say was over the rolls. Like Bear Creek before them, they serve these hideously greasy garlic rolls, the kind of thing Jay Leno jokes about that are making our kids fat! Why not just plain dinner rolls? We were served two each and when we asked for two to go with the doggie bag our waitress said she'd have to charge us $1.99. Seeing as the tab was $75 I complained to no avail. These horrible things must be worth all of a nickel a piece.

After many years of wonderful dining at Bear Creek and recommending it to friends an visitors this was a total disappointment and we're never going back and certaily wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
