Location is great - to Gatlinburg, Flapjack's, Ripley's Miniature Golf and Downtown (the aquarium). The rooms can use a better vacuum and the HVAC units are filthy; not good for travelers with kids. Don't peak behind the nightstand; very dusty. The breakfast could be better; continental at best. The pool and whirlpool are the best part outside of the exterior architecture. In my mind, simply could use a good deep clean or a guestroom renovation.

We have actually really enjoyed staying at this hotel: The decor and overall quality are great, and the breakfast is quite good. My kids love the swimming amenities as well, and it has a nice and quiet location. However - we no longer stay there, because it has no refridgerator or microwave in the room. We can't even keep bottled water or sodas cold there - this is not a plus, especially when traveling with a 7 and 10 yr old. If this is their ploy to get us to use the overpriced vending machines more, then it failed with us - there are too many choices that are good and have at least the fridge, that we won't stay again until they remedy that situation.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms give a lovely and tranquil view!

Hello! We’re sorry that you’ve found this to be an inconvenience during past stays at our property, but we are writing to let you know that as of last May, all of our rooms come with a small refrigerator. Our suites, which include a king size bed and a full size sleeper sofa, and our spa rooms, which include a king size bed and an in-room whirlpool, are equipped with both a refrigerator and a microwave. For our guests convenience, there is also a microwave in our breakfast area which is accessible 24/7. Thank you for your suggestions, and we hope that we’ll see you again sometime soon!

Was quite disappointed with this being a "Mariott". Rooms were very small and not the cleanest I've ever seen. My husband and I noticed on the morning of our departure, some really wierd dead insect of some sort under the sink. Did not sleep, as the beds and pillows were very uncomfortable and were supposed to be queen size, but the smallest queen size I've ever seen. There was only one elevator, which made getting to and from our room, sometimes time consuming. Breakfast was not bad, but the whole lobby, eating area is very very cramped and I felt myself feeling quite claustrophobic. I don't mean to sound like a negative nancy, but at 100 bucks a night, I expected a little bit better.

The building itself is quite inviting, and the bright colors are cheerful. The decor could stand some updating. We had a good sound sleep, despite the somewhat hard beds. The toilet was embarrassingly low and there were hairs in the shower! The continental breakfast was well-laid out, but we would have preferred to see more healthier fare available than 2 bananas and an apple. The desk and pantry service were both pleasant, helpful and friendly. The view from our room was stunning: mountains and a trickling brook.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the brook side

This motel 3/4 mile outside Gatlinburg is good value for money. The rooms are nice, beds are good. The reception area is elegant. All in all a very good alternative.

We stayed a couple nights and had a very average experience. First, the desk attendants (with the exception of one very helpful young lady) was very ho-hum and not interested in getting off their stool to say much other than "hi" to you. No biggie, it didn't bother me too much, just seemed odd for a Marriott (Fairfield or not). The lobby was pretty nice, no complaint. Now the room was, well....average at best. The mini-fridge was kind of just sitting out in a weird place, like it was an after though. Again, not a deal breaker for us. It was moderately comfortable, not much storage space but manageable. It was somewhat clean....overall just an okay experience. Nothing bad enough to complain but we will probably try a different place to stay next time. The free internet was very nice and the location convenient.
