“Not as good as last time”
Reviewed September 10, 2013 via mobile

We love this hotel and have stayed before. This time lots went wrong, and while it was all eventually made right it was somewhat disappointing. The clerk walked around with a headset clearly having personal conversations while many customers waited. We had trouble with our air unit and then were locked out due to a front desk error. We think this was just a fluke and we will stay here again as the location is perfect. We had absolutely no problems last time we stayed and hope next year will be better than this one.

Quality Hotel and staff were fantastic. Great location. Extra large room with double balcony. Breakfast was good and coffee excellent. Nice sitting area with sofa and table. Wish we were going back in winter so we could use the fireplace! Beautiful view of the mountains and downtown Gatlinburg. Beds were comfy. Bathroom in our room was a little small though. Liked having a separate sink area however. Used the pool one day was very refreshing and clean. Air conditioning was working great - it was a hot hot week we were there. Teddy the afternoon/evening manager was amazing! Very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.

Room Tip: We stayed in the tower portion of the hotel, was very handy and the views were great! You get a bett...

Room was large and clean with private balcony. Staff was friendly and we were able to check in early. There was 5 of us and we had plenty of room with 2 queen beds and queen sleeper sofa. Location of hotel was great, about a block from the convention center in Gatlinburg so we were able to walk anywhere we wanted to go. Would definitely stay here again.

Yes this hotel needs some updating but the staff and the location can't be beat. Close to the entrance of the park and close to some great restaurants. Just a few blocks walk to old smokey and many other great spots.

Room Tip: We had a creekside room and the room was old but you could sit on he balcony and hear the music from...

Our room was a single king bed with fireplace and a cute 2 person balcony above a creek. The screened window opened to let in the sound of the creek and fresh air since it was cool the weekend we were there. Very quiet, no noise from other guests or the nearby restaurants even though you could walk to Howard's Steakhouse, Calhoun's, Smokey Mountain Brewery and Ober Gatlinburg within one block. Got a great rate since we prepaid on the internet and belong to the Reward program. Desk was expecting us and had our key cards ready--no forms, fastest check-in I ever had! Room was clean and up to date except no flat screen but TV was good picture, I especially enjoyed the high quality sheets on the bed. Great water pressure and hot water in the shower. The toilet did not have a lid but that didn't bother us too much. As we were falling asleep a loud swooshing noise came from the bathroom and we determined it was the room above us using the shower, also the light wouldn't work in the bathroom at that time so we assume they shared our pipes and electrical which we thought was a little strange but not unusual for an older hotel that was otherwise enjoyable. The continental breakfast was good. There was hard boiled eggs, biscuits and gravy, donuts, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, coffee, juice and assorted fruit and it was free in a bright clean setting next to the check-in area. There is an outdoor pool but we didn't swim due to cool weather and rain. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it.

Right in the heart of where the action is and just few miles to Great Smoky Mountain entrance. Very quick checkin/checkout- they were waiting for our arrival. Beautiful room with lots of windows, fireplace, huge balcony overlooking the creek and surrounding mountain --- feels like a condo studio unit. Very clean place and good convenient access to the office- just riding the outside elevator. From here, you will get panoramic view of the Great Smoky Mtn. parking is free. Though the breakfast area is small (not as spacious as the others), everybody was able to get, eat and drink what they want.

Room Tip: Corner upper room in Summit Manor (newer section on the hill)

When we arrived at the hotel, check in was so simple it seemed as if they were awaiting my arrival. My family and I received an unbelievable rate for a 2 bedroom suite with a kitchen, full stove and fridge. The rooms were a little dated, as a matter of fact, the television in one of the bedrooms died a few minutes after we turned it on. I went to the front desk to inform them of the issue. Teddy told me that that he would have someone up to look at it in a few minutes. 10 minutes later, Chris came to check out my problem. Immediately, he diagnosed the issue and 30 minutes later, he was back with another television. The room was in the corner and wi-fi did not work inside the room. We had to sit on the balcony to get an internet connection. Breakfast was ok.We had boiled eggs, gravy and biscuits (I was looking for scrambled eggs) and other continental style breakfast foods. The hotel is directly off the strip so we were close to everything. My 3 children enjoyed the fact that they could walk out without having to drive. I would definitely stay here again. The service was good, the amenities were functional and we had a great time in Gatlinburg!

Room Tip: Keep in mind that wi-fi is very weak in room 221.
