We have stayed at this hotel before and have been pleased, but this time the room had a smell upon entering it, the carpet was wet by the door, my son found a pill on the chair by the desk, thankfully it was only an excedrin. The breakfast order form from previous people was lying on the floor, and the worst thing was black mold all in the shower. The housekeeping has obviously gone awry in this facility.

Dear Jaceann;
We appreciate your feedback about your recent stay with us. I see that the freshness of the room was a problem during your stay including a strange odor and possible sightings of mold. Guest satisfaction is our highest priority, and we’ve shared your comments with our team to resolve this situation, immediately. Thank you for bringing it to our attention, and we hope you’ll give us another chance the next time you travel to the area.
Travel Safely,

This hotel is one of the older ones in Gatlinburg, but it has been very nicely updated. It has very beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The trolley also runs to the hotel on intervals. It makes it very easy to explore Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge without having to drive. The staff are always friendly and the hotel is always very clean. In my opinion, it is one of the top three hotels in Gatlinburg.

We arrived early (9:30am) and although we knew check in was at 4pm we decided to see if we could get in earlier. We checked into our room at 9:40 am. Never had this happen before. Hotel is beautiful, nestled in the mountains, away from the downtown chaos. Trolley rides allowed for us to park our car and visit Gatlinburg on day one. We spent every other day of our five day trip hiking from morning until evening and when we returned it was to a peaceful, clean, quiet room with a beautiful view of the mountains from the ninth floor. My only complaint was the bed...I found it a bit lumpy. We ate at the restaurant once and at the Firefly Lounge…both were very good. We hiked the Grotto Falls trail and Rainbow Falls trail behind the hotel and saw a young bear on our first night out in the mountains. My teenagers had no desire to get into the pool but it looks like fun for younger children. We're (WV) Mountaineers, used to living in mountains, hills and valleys, but the Smoky Mountains took our breath away. Your mountain is waiting...get on your way...

My Husband loves to take me here, and we have are Hilton Honors members so we always take advantage of the late check out, free newspaper, etc. They have never offered us a free upgrade (kudos to the Airport Hilton for having done this), and once they even forgot to give us our warm cookies at check-in, but then apologized. :) The rooms are lovely, we always have chosen mountain view as opposed to city view, but if you are checking in late, mountain view is just dark outside. I like the fact that guest services at hotel chains have come a long way. If you check in and your room has some problem (we once had a noisy room bc it was near the heat/air system which is outdoors), guest services is more than willing to fix it, and in our case sent a manager up with our new room keys & information to save us from visiting the desk again. The pool area is the nicest I have seen. The kids would have loved it, but we swam & enjoyed the slide even in their absence! The kiddie pool is similarly impressive and also has its own (smaller) water slide. While Park Vista is not on the strip, there is something to be said for the serene atmosphere afforded by being just a short distance from the beaten path. Since the trolley stops just outside every thirty minutes, and plenty of parking is available on the strip without ever even having to pull onto the Parkway, it can't be counted as an inconvenience. We have dined here during our stays as well, and breakfast is a buffet style that is impressive but not sure it is worth the $30 they charge for it while booking, unless maybe there are 4 people staying. Dinner at the bar & grill area was nice. My Husband didn't care much for the ribs but ate them & enjoyed the salad & fries very much. We would have saved money by eating elsewhere, but it was handy to eat dinner and then walk to bed- especially the better option if you plan to drink. I <3 Pedestrians. :) Overall: Join the Rewards Program, Get your Cookies (Delicious!), Ask for a late check-out, Enjoy your stay, Be SURE to check out the pool area (its fun), & DON'T forget your wallet. Not impressed. Pool is pretty cool for the kids but that is the only feature of the hotel worth mentioning. We will not stay here again. It's an old hotel, beds are not that great, can't believe we are paying top dollar for this!
